If you unplug the power do if the water still run in then you need to replace water valve don't try to take it a part and clean it out it will just leak water in the tube. So just replace the water valve.

Steam valve won't shut off

If the water sprays after the dry cycle has completed and you have to physically have to turn the tap off, then you need to replace the water inlet valve on the unit. Here is a link to the valve.

Lavamat problems

Most likely, your washer's fill valve is leaking. You can probably find replacement valves. I found the AEG LAV1480 parts at several sites.

If your water pipes to the washer have shut-off valves where the hoses connect, turn the water to off after doing the wash. If they don't have shut off valves, have them installed. It's a cheap way to avoid floods when either the valve or the hoses fail. There are some high-end electronic shut-off valves that include a timer so you won't forget to turn off the water. Two simple 1/4 turn shut-off valve (one for hot, one for cold) are cheaper but you have to turn off the water after you finish the load.

To test the shut-off valves when in the closed position, disconnect the hoses from the washer and put a bucket under them. No water should flow into the bucket beyond the water that was initially in the hoses.

I hope this helps.

My whirlpool dishwasher wont get water to it when I press start

Hi

When the Dishwasher won't fill you'll need to check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water, thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling. Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

I get error FE- book says unplug and call a tech. Is this something I can fix myself?

FE error means that the water is filling past it's set point. You may have a broken water valve that won't shut off when it's in the filling mode. You can check by running the washer and watching the water fill. If the water level fills above the bottom of the glass, you have a water valve that's not shutting off. Replace the water valve.

The washer is ovrtflowing with water. It does not stop

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Overfilling in your washer occurs mainly due to two things: water inlet valve going bad and/or the water level switch. If the water inlet valve has gone bad it won’t be able to shut off even when the electricity has been turned off. If the issue is with the water level switch then it won’t tell the water to shut off and the machine will overflow as this switch is to sense the water level in the clothes tub. However, with that being said it seems that you’ll need to replace the water inlet valve. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
