The opening of the jets is too large. solutions:
1. Replace the jets. 2. Remove the jets and fill the holes with tin solder in common use in plumbing and drill holes. They recorded with numbers the size. the bit to be used to make the hole indicated. For example, a hole was drilled # 56 with # 56 drill bit. The correct size of hole is determined by the pressure and volume of gas, so re-drill this hole is not too difficult process. Given that the smaller sizes are equivalent to drill larger holes, the holes for natural gas range from # 54 to # 31, while propane holes ranging from # 62 to # 48. Opening experience from the smallest size using a sharp rod 1/16 "as a needle or ice pick. If natural gas or LPG Propane Butane. In no high-temperature jets for the gas outlet and not the cooled pewter melts. fully open the floodgates air. There adjustable jets, they have insert a needle to rotate open or close the hole. My job is that for 8 years have modified fryers. Luck.

A orange flame means that not enough air is mixing with the gas to produce a nice clean burning blue flame. Try cleaning out any deposits of grease or anything else that could be blocking the air pathway to the flame.

Flame burning too orange

You need to get a Plumber or Appliance Tech to come out immediately and check the fuel to air ratio. You are not burning your fuel at the proper mixture. A blue flame is good, yellow-orange is bad.

Normally this is because the burner area is dirty or the pressure regulator may be set too high/low. The black marks are a sure sign that your ratio is too rich and it's just going to build up more soot and become unhealthy and dangerous.

Apw gas grill causes black suet

All indications are there could be an issue with your burner(s). Check for a blue flame. If the flame is yellowish, there's an issue with air/gas mixture. This would tend to cause flare ups and scorch the food. A thorough cleaning of the burners should resolve this (see attached youtube video)

Also, check all surfaces for any residue grease. Left over grease will burn hot and create the soot you've described.

Problems with black ash clogging up my flame tubes

Hi, If this is a new fryer it probably has the wrong gas jets in it. Probably set up for natural and using propane. Could be the gas pressures not set right on the valve. If this is the case, call your gas company and they will probably check it without charge. If it is a fryer that has been in use for a while and this problem just started you probably have a leak in your tubes to where oil is leaking into the flame area and the fryer will probably have to be replaced. It may be able to be welded if you have a good welder and he can find the leak in a place that can be welded. Good luck, kstfas
