I have a Coby MP620. It says to drag and drop files to the music.dir folder but I have no such folder. I have the movie, photo and text files but no music. I have no idea what to do next.

When your MP3 Player is connected to a computer, you may transfer music files to your MP3 player using your operating system's basic file management commands (i.e., copy-and-paste or drag-and-drop).Connect the Coby MP3 player to your computer through its USB adapter. Select "Open folder to view files" from the new device dialog box that pops up. If the new device dialog does not appear upon the hardware's connection, click "Start," click "My Computer" and right-click the Coby MP3 player's device icon in Windows Explorer .Click "Start," click "My Music" and open the folder containing the music you wish to transfer onto the Coby MP3 player. Drag and drop the music files or folders into the Coby MP3 player's open directory. Alternatively, you can highlight the music files or folders and click the "Copy the selected" link from the Files and Folders Tasks menu in the left column. Select the "Removable Disk" drive from the list of destinations.

Tip

Show Hidden Files and Folders_2

Contd. from Show hidden Files and Folders_1.
2 Registry Editor
Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box {type in "regedit" in the run box}.When the
Registry Editor is opened go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” in the drop down snap-ins (n the left pane) Click “Software” then “Microsoft” –> “Windows”->”CurrentVersion” ->”Explorer” and
then “Advanced”. On the right pane area, double-click hidden and when the dialog box pops up, change the value to 1,then OK.
Check if it has taken effect or not and don’t forget to type
“gpupdate” in the run box to update the current changes in the system registry. You can refer to the graphical illustration below:

Still you can’t see the hidden folder? Then you need totry the Next Trick..

3. Command Prompt
Here you’ll need to do using Command Prompt (CMD), in the run box type CMD, and then select your directory where your hidden folder/file is located.
Let’s consider D: is your directory and Folder1 is the folder you had hidden.
Run – CMD (press enter) – cd (press enter) – d: (pressenter) – attrib –h Folder1 (press enter) and check if the changes has taken affect.

If you need to do unhide a file not a folder suppose a file name “Name” type like this “attrib –h Name” (the Name represents a folder name or a file name) inside the directory or the folder directory.
If you want to unhide all files or folders inside a folder/directory then type like this attrib –h *.* (press enter)

Please note that if your system is infected by virus/worm/Trojan horse, etc.. etc. then this will not work. It’s a best bet to run a virus scan, you can try with this multi-scanner from the link below : http://www.technize.com/?dl_id=6
Good luck…

If anyone knows more about the hidden file and folder (tips or tricks, not hacking), please don't hesitate to add them as comments.

My Music folder suddenly deleted all the files in it, but the folder won't delete because it says it's not empty; however, it won't let me open it either. It keeps popping up an Error code 0x80070091: The...

You probably have a disk-drive with some "bad" sectors.
So, when you try to read the sectors that contain the directory for the 'My Music' folder,
that sector cannot be read, and thus Windows reports an "empty" folder.

It's probable that your disk-drive is about to _completely_ fail, not just _partially_.
Make a backup of what files & folders that _can_ be read.

Disable other conflicting software In Windows, some background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. See Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows XP or Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista and Windows 7 for assistance disabling conflicting processes.
Additionally, some third-party security software cannot be disabled using Selective Startup (MSConfig). How do i download pics from comp to disk

Hi,
  1. Insert a writeable CD or DVD into your computer's CD or DVD recorder.
  2. In the dialog box that appears, click Burn files to data disc.
  3. In the Burn a Disc dialog box, type a name for this disc, and then click Next.
It might take several minutes for the disc to be formatted in the default Live File System format. When the formatting is complete, an empty disc folder opens.
  4. Open the folder that contains the files you want to burn, and then drag the files into the empty disc folder.

cdb4d559-8825-47a1-8175-79020965d91c.pngYou can copy files to the disc folder by dragging them to the disc icon or to an open disc folder As you drag files into the disc folder, they are copied automatically to the disc.

But I recommend you to use any CD or DVD burning software like Nero, BurnAware etc. There are lots of free burning tools available on Internet too.

Why I recommend third party software is because you can select burn speed plus minimum disc burning error.

Empty folder

There may be possible reasons why your Sansa E250 would display an message on the LCD even when you've downloaded files to it: (1) The music file type is not supported by the player. Sansa players support only MP3 and WMA files. To determine what file type your have, right click on the file type and it should display the "properties" dialog box. Check if it is MP3 or WMA. For example, iTunes music files will not work with the player, nor will WAV or MIDI files. (2) Your music files are supported but the bit rate is not within the range that the player supports. Sansa players support MP3 files up to 128 KBPS and WMA files up to 64 KBPS. You may need to use a 3rd party music file editor to convert the files to a supported bit rate (3) You may have saved your music files in a folder and copied the folder to the player. Your Sansa E250 will not recognize folders. Either save them in the root directory or inside the "Music" folder -- your player's default folder for music files. Hope this info helps :)
