My janome 9000 sewing machine has stopped working 3 times when I sewed over heavy material. What s wrong with machine.

Did you take it for service? If so, the technician should be able to tell you what was wrong and what probably caused it.

If you didn't take it for service, how were you able to get it to sew again? Could be the fabric was too heavy for the needle and caused the needle to bend. It could be knocking your machine out of time. Be sure to use a heavy needle like a #16 or #18 (and for most fabrics try a "sharp" like microtex, top stitch, leather needle) and sew slowly with heavy fabric. Perhaps the fabric is too heavy for your sewing machine. I sew heavy fabric like vinyl, canvas, etc but I use an old metal mechanical machine that I can help along by turning the handwheel when the going gets tough.

I bought Gloria Vanderbilt shorts with elastic at the waist and front and back pockets.

What do you mean replaced? The whole shorts? Or just the hem?
if yiu are a sewer you could replace the hem etc with a nylon blend of material as a contrast. But rayon will ALWAYS need ironing.

How is xr1300 on light canvas and denim

I just used it the other day on light canvas and denim is my next thing! Make sure you purchase a heavy duty/denim needle and the right thread and you are all set!!!

It was a breeze and I haven't sewn in YEARS :-)

Juno D making horrible sounds! it started today when I was playing, and I hit a loud note and it started making horrible crackly sounds, like when a digital signal mucks up on your TV. I had this problem...

The vibration (mechanical) is probably either bouncing foreign material around that shorts something OR flexs circuit board that has crack in it causing intermittent contact.

You need to open the unit and find the exact cause since if it is foreign material, for instance a paper clip, that can do permanent damage if it gets in the wrong place... A cracked circuit board or loose connector needs repair.

Can the consew 339rb-1 be used only with 1 needle?

this is the specifications for the 339rb-3. they sould be close to yours, if you can put two seperate needles in and the machine hase one hook and bobbin case then I would say you can use one needle, if you have two hooks and bobbins, I would say no, you may want to thread with one and just hand turn for a few stiches to sew hoe it reacts, leave the bobbin door open so you can watch the hook.

Specifications

  • Two needle mechanism readily makes two parallel lines of stitches
  • Compound feed, walking foot mechanism insures even feeding of material
  • Large hooks and bobbins assures longer operation between bobbin changes
  • Centra-Lube® semi-automatic lubrication system
  • Automatic hook lubrication
  • Oil fed take-up
  • Simple adjustment permits raising and lowering of the center foot which allows for sewing different thickness of material
  • Safety clutch protects the hooks from being damaged
  • Various needle gauges available
  • For sewing light to heavy-weight materials such as leather, vinyl, upholstery, synthetics, canvas, vinyl and various coated and laminated products

Heavy material feed dog

To the very best of my knowledge (and I've been full time as a manager / owner in my family sewing machine sales / service business for almost 30 years (with many more part-time before that), I know of no "heavy material" feed dog that has been available for the Pfaff 130. Please keep in mind that the 130, while pretty heavy duty (especially compared to many of today's machines), was never manufactured or intended to be heavy duty in the sense of sewing heavy items such as uphaolstery fabrics (canvas, nagahide, etc.). It was produced with the intent of being a reliable household (non-commercial / industrial) machine with the purpose of sewing light-to-moderate heavy metrails. What exactaly are you trying to sew that leads you to the request of using "heavy material" feed dogs or that you feel Pfaff produced / manufactured such an item?

Best regards,

Dave
