SOURCE: reception

I'm not sure that would help at all. An external antenna is useful if you are inside a vehicle to get around the signal being blocked if your gps is inside but from the sounds of your description, you are being blocked by the buildings. What you need is line of sight to the satellites so the gps can triangulate your location. The more satellites it can see, the better. If it cannot locate at least 3, it will not work.

Earn money, work from home

I think you should try working as a virtual assistant. I know you can do it since you were a rep from Dell. As a virtual assistant you will assist your Boss from all his/her tasks and all the "to-dos", still you will work from home with just a computer and (of course) internet connection. Or, since you were a tech support, you can also try working for any clients who want to hire someone who can work remotely.
To start off getting jobs, you can look into these sites:

Staff.com - an online staffing company who aims to hire FULL TIME / Part time jobs from all over the world. Honestly, this site has a good rating.

Fiverr - I know you have skills so why not put them here for a "gig" or service starting at $5.

I can not find the source of our philips tv

I would have the remote looked at----usually they can be fixed for much less than a new remote and have all the features needed.

Universals are usually a waste of time and money

To directly address your problem==unless the set has a input or source button on its front or side you need to get that remote working or replaced with an original one.

Svc engine light keeps coming and engine races. replaced gas cap ran fine for 3 hours

If your light is on, take it to Autozone. They will scan it and tell you what is wrong. It is free. This will let you know what to check. It could be a few things, but with a code, you will know for sure. I don;t want you to waste your your money for nothing. Autozone will tell you what the code is. It could be a MAP sensor but that is just one possibility. If you need anything else, feel free to contact me, I am here to help you in anyway I can. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

How do I get my encription code for my DIR-615, please ? Reset does not work. CD does not work. I spent 58 minutes with Tech help - waste of time and money

If you did the "reset" correctly, the router should have been reset to its "factory" settings.

If so, then connect an Ethernet cable between your computer's network-port and one of the LAN ports on the router.

Access the router's built-in web-server, and run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard", to configure the wireless networking, including choosing an SSID, and choosing an encryption-level, and choosing a password for your wireless network.

Can't get reception. Unplugged everything...EVERYTHING...including dish..reconnected, cleaned card and in dish pointing cannot regardless of respondent, cannot get reception HELP

Getting reception for you is not something we can conjure up. Therew could be a million resons why u cant get reception including a damaged TV receiver or a damaged Disk receiver, broken coax etc etc etc.

You can buy a meter that connects in line between the dish and the Tv that will measure any signal being received for about $20. But is no guarantee that the TV is not faulty even if you see a good signal on the display.
Often better to engage a Tech on site than fall off the roof and become a para or electocute yourself playing around inside the TV.

Life is more valuable than saving a few bucks on a tech!

Poor antenna reception

That's a problem with the digital broadcasting. Signal strength is critical, and the frequencies used are more directional. Some people are finding they get no reception at all. Your antenna may not need to be higher, but aimed in a different direction. Did you have a rotator installed as well? An outside antenna really should be pointed toward the station. You might also be able to add an amplifier to the antenna to boost the signal. But get a mast-mounted version that mounts right at the antenna, not the kind that goes at the TV set.
