SOURCE: Laptop AC Adaptor

If the light is going out whenever you plug the Ac adapter in you most likely have a short in the laptop. The most likely culprits are a failed battery or a damaged AC port. Remove the battery and AC the use a pen or pocket knife to wiggle the pin in the center of the AC port. If it is solid, it's probably good, if it wiggles it's likely broken(may need a pro for this repair).

Assuming it's ok, leave the battery out and try plugging the AC back in. If the light goes out the problem is likely on the motherboard and may need a pro. If the light on the AC pack stays on turn on the laptop, if that works the battery is the problem, you can purchase a new battery.

Try these and let me know how you make out,

Chris

SOURCE: my laptop will not turn on

Check if the AC power adapter can operate the notebook when the battery is removed. Do a normal shutdown of the PC. Remove the battery from the Notebook. Connect the power adapter and press the Power button to start the notebook. If the PC does not start and operate normally, the AC adapter is defective and must be replaced. If the PC does start and operate normally, the AC adapter is working properly If the notebook does not start with ac adapter and keeps flashing the lights only then we need to know how many blinks are flashing. Please check the following LED blink codes and the link below to solve the issue with your laptop. First you need to determine how many blinks you are getting when you try to power on the laptop. Check the blinking codes below and reason behind that for HP Compaq laptops Blinking battery power LED Battery Insufficient charge on the battery Blink: 1 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - CPU CPU not functional Blink: 2 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - BIOS BIOS corruption failure Blink: 3 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - Memory Module error not functional Blink: 4 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - Graphics Graphics controller not functional Blink: 5 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - System board General system board failure Blink: 6 - Caps Lock/Num Lock - BIOS BIOS authentication failure Well Check for the below link it will provide you the steps which you need to perform to isolate the cause so that we can determine which hardware of the laptop is causing this issue. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443366&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en You need to first Remove the memory module (RAM)- Try to power on the laptop ? then again reset it and try to power on. Check whether it is coming on or not. try the same procedure with Hard drive. If laptop is getting power on after removing one of the device then we can be sure that that particular device is faulty and we can change that then? Let me know if you find any difficulties doing this.. I hope this will help you to get it work. Plz vote for me..Dreamkam

You could try another battery. But if another battery doesn't work, sorry mate I think it's dead.In future make sure you only use what you know is compatible, also NEVER try to run the PSP with the AC adaptor without the battery in.The PSP safety and support booklet states: Do not use the PSP system with the AC Adaptor when the Battery Pack is not inserted in the system. If the AC Adaptor is disconnected suddenly,it may result in damage to the system.

If it is the motherboard that's burnt out I think you can replace it but they're expensive I think,I saw one for a PSP1000 for

Why does innotab charging light blink when charging and will not charge?

the charge imdicator is suppose to blink when you plug the toy to the wall adaptor. if it doesnt blink then there's something wrong with either the adaptor, the adaptor port on the toy or the rechargeable power packs. now i said that the light is suppose to blink. but the frequency of the blinks shouldnt be fast. if that's the case clean the compartments and re-insert the batteries. if you are still having problems try the ff T/S:

1)remove the power packs, plug the toy to adaptor and turn it on. if it turns on that means your adaptor is working.
2)remove the adaptor and try using just the power packs.
3)try using 4aa batteries.

if the toy turns on with only one of the power sources stated above you better call vtech hotline.

Hello , actualy i took the battry out while my hp ,dv600 on then when i turn it on again it turns on but my screen is black and the computer lights goes on and of every few seconds , what do you think is...

Removing the battery shouldn't hurt it, unless you were doing a BIOS update or something, at worst, the PC should reboot and you might get a message about Windows not shutting down properly. It sounds like the battery might be dead and is not getting charged. Have you tried it with the AC adaptor? Is the adaptor definitely plugged in correctly?

My Gateway 1450 will not power up. For the last 2 weeks that battery light has been red (battery need recharging). i had the unit turned off with no ac power to it all weekend and not it will not power up....

The motherboard battery is just a little round battery that you can buy at almost any retailer in most pcs. The model number to the battery is usually a CR 2032. This battery does not receive any power from your power supply. Have you noticed your PC loosing time over the last few months? This is usually a good indication that the motherboard battery is dying. The lights that you refer to though should only partain to the rechargable battery of the notebook. During the past two weeks while the red light was on, was the AC adaptor plugged in to the laptop and plugged into an AC source? If your AC adaptor has been plugged in and is not charging the notebook battery then there could be one or both of the following problems: your notebook battery could be bad or your AC adaptor could be bad. Something you may or may not know is that it is not good to keep the AC adaptor plugged in all the time. This causes the notebook battery not to fully discharge after being charged. Over a long period of time, the battery will not even charge anymore. My suggestion is that if you know someone with a similar AC adaptor to yours, borrow it to see if it charges your battery. If the battery doesn't charge then you know to replace. However, I am almost certain that you problem is the battery. Sometime older laptops like the one I have has a reset button on the underside. If yours has one try removing the battery and leave it out. Then plug in the power and press and hold the reset button for 10 to 20 seconds. If no reset button is on yours then do the same process with the battery removed and power adding, but hold the power button instead.

Problem with b130 batteries?

it is very possible that your a/c adaptor/charger is not working well enough to charge or keep you computer runing.
with a new battery you should put it on charge for several hour and charge it to the maximum.
do you know for a fact that the battery is new you put in it?
if the battery is used it may be trash also.
sort out the facts then look for the most obvious.
most obvious at this point it that a/c charger.

Unplug the power cable... Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds... Plug cable back in and check for light... If this still didnt work, then unplug cable again, take battery out, wait 10 seconds.... Put battery back in, plug cable back in and this should allow you to boot...

Help

sounds like you have an intermittent problem with your AC adaptor or dc input jack. Does the light on the AC adaptor light up when you plug it in? If it does then your dc input jack may be faulty. If the light on the ac adaptor does not light then replace the ac adaptor. Good Luck!
