2005 Honda Odyssey Cd Changer - jammed then died

My cd changer in my 2005 Honda Odyssey got jammed - then stopped working all together; the radio works fine but it will not switch modes from am/fm to cd. I removed the entire unit and replaced it with one I bought on ebay - same issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Does the fuse to the radio differ from the fuse for the CD changer? Could it be something else?

Thanks for your consideration and help.

Well, I am a moron; I relied upon pressing the "cd" button to change modes. Apparently, if there is no cd loaded, it will appear as if nothing is happening (really, nothing is happening because no cd has been detected). I presssed the "load" key to actually put in a cd and voila, it wil take one and play it. All is well excpet for my ego...

SOURCE: how to remove the cd player from Honda odyssey EX 2002 model

The trim panel that surrounds the radio and contains the climate controls and possibly 1 or 2 other switches needs to be removed. Apply gentle, even pressure on the edges and gradually move to the other edges, and the clips should pop out.

I would advise against unplugging the climate controls or radio however other switches can be unplugged safely.

Once the panel with the climate controls is removed there should be 4 phillips head screws holding the radio in place; remove those and you should be golden.

sounds like the tray inside was misaligned when the cd went in. and it probally sent the disc into a occupied slot. you will have to remove radio and disassemble to repair. also try just unpluging radio and plug back in. sometimes it resets the radio and will start ejecting the cds

My car battery died.when i put in a new my cd player stop working

If your radio is still working, then your power is OK. The Sony CD changer gets its power from the Sony Unilink cable. It is possible that it passed a power spike down to your CD player while hooking up your battery cables.

I just had a CDX-757MX just die a few days ago myself. My radio, amps, and other changers are still working. Could be an unfortunate coincidence.
