Acer Aspire 4736z always shutdown on start-up


Try to update your BIOS. Download it here : http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

You must need USB Flashdrive to update it. Please make sure that your USB Flashdrive is bootable. Here's the link on how to make USB Flashdrive bootable: http://www.makeuseof.com/answers/usb-drive-bootable/
After you make your USB FLashdrive bootable, copy that BIOS update folder in your USB flashdrive. Please also rename it in simple words so that you can easily access it using command prompt. And after that make your USB flashdrive as first boot priority. Then save and exit.
When the USB flashdrive is now booting.
Type this:
cd (name of the BIOS Folder)
cd DOS
FLASH
then wait it after it finish.
NOTE: Make sure you plugged in your AC adapter.

I can't seem to get the Belkin 7-port hub to work with windows 7. Whenever I plug a flashdrive into it, windows 7 doesn't give recognize the flashdrive.


windows 7 is a 64 bit OS, and still fairly new. A lot of drivers for hardware are not supporting 64 bit Operating Systems yet, maybe in the near future but right now a lot are not.
Temporarily or permanently switch to Ubuntu. I think this hub is compatible, and you can still read your Windows files in this Linux distribution.

Usb port not always recognized upon start up and updating driver only helps for the printer..


check if the usb portctt assists the device or ensure that the plug-in pin is erect for good contact

Test usb port with another device,
check in my computer for the drive,
Test usb flash in another Pc,
Manufacturers website for a possible driver.
if still not working then it's faulty,

Heating up, light not coming on


cruzer micro 4GB, loaded with data. works perfectly in all systems except my xp. Problem didn't originate until after ghosting system to correct different problem. Now, error message states flashdrive not recognized. must then get behind pc, and gently work with it until i can hear the shift in the duo core processors and the orange light on the flashdrive comes on. Please help.

Hello!
Hopefully I can try to walk you through a process that I would use.  First check to see if the flashdrive is damaged.  Usually the cases don't break, but the USB connector itself takes a lot of hits/damage/wear.  You should be able to see 4 metallic contacts on the USB connector and they should be in good shape.  Blow out any dirt/garbage in the connector as well.
Next is to see when you plug it in if the LED on it lights up at all.  If there is no light whatsoever, it is one of two things, either the flashdrive is totally broken or you have a failled USB port.  Either one is possible.  If possible, take the flashdrive and test it on another system, or at least another USB port.  That will give you some important information.
Assuming that the LED lights, then it is a question of getting Windows to recognize the drive.  If there is nothing important on the drive, fdisk the drive in DOS, then format it, and then Windows should recognize it, allowing it to be used.
If you have no LED lighting on the flashdrive, after testing on another system as well, get another flashdrive (or return this one if under warranty), since there are no real parts to service/fix.

no its not the problem with your vista , its the problem with usb flash drive, sometimes your antivirus program prevent it from reading the flashdrive because of some virus on it.

Unfortunately it seems a lot of things that you love :) wont work right? well, Let me know if you are running windows xp with what service pack? service pack 1 or service pack 2? to do this, right click the icon " My Computer " and select properties,a system properties dialog will open, on the top right you should be able to see:

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional / Home ( Depends what you have )
Version ( 2002 )
Service Pack X ( X could be 1 or 2 )check this and let me know
