Automatic Restart? Are you trying to Start Automatic Restart or Stop Automatic Restart?

If you have having boot problems and the system keeps restarting, then turn off the computer, then hit the power button and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Scroll down past Safe Mode and you will see an option to DISABLE AUTOMATIC RESTART. Take the Disable Automatic Restart option.

OmLaptop restarts after being shut down Its a Dell 1545

Hi 1940miker...

Try this solution to your problem

Your computer is set up by default to auto start when a problem occurs.
The computer is configured to automatically restart when Windows stops responding.
To view this setting, follow these steps:
Click the Start button, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Under System Failure, view the Automatically restart check box.
If the Automatically restart check box is selected, Windows automatically restarts if the computer stops unexpectedly.

What do i do if my computer crashed

Restart it.

When it stops or you get whats called BSOD, the blue screen of death,

You write down the error number so it can be resolved.

If the laptop does not boot into windows when you restart it, restart it again and look at the bottom screen, you will see command functions,
look for the restore one and try to restore it.

Its best to read your manual on the restore so you don't cause more problems.

If you don't have the manual just go to the website of acer and download it.
