Problem for Sharp 25N-S100 25" TV
Tv turns on cable is in tv,but no cable or anything black screen
The tv works and I have the remote it is just when I hook up the cable to the tv I get no cable just a black screen.

- ok all that has been done and we still have no cable connection. We had my daughters tv hooked up to it the day we got our tv.Jun 17, 2009
- Thanks for all the help unfourtunatly my tv has no place to hook up a dvd or vcr so I took it apart and the connector inside broke off,but thanks anyway.Best Solution

First is the cable active? If so make sure all cables are connected propperly from the outside sorce to the tv. If all of the above are ok check the remote menu to make sure that it is acsessing the correct inport source:cable,antenna,hdmi,etc. Also with the change over to digital you may have to have the tv rescan all availlable channels.

- Without beihg there I'm not sure. Here are some ideas. To test the tv try hooking up a VCR or DVD player and see if you get a picture. If so then the TV is not set to the correct input source for cable. If you are using a cable converter box the TV needs to be tuned into the default channel for that box(usually 2 or 3). You can also try rebooting the box,by unplugging from power for a few minutes, if the preceeding has been done or have the cable company do it remotely. If all of the above has been done and cable is being supplied input,either from a dish or a cable company, then I feel that the TV is not on the right setting for cable input. This happens occationally to my wife as I have our TV set up to recieve from four different sources. Good luck!!Yes
