Question about Electrical Supplies

Wen generator I removed the fuel **** from my WEN Generator. In the manual it states that to drain the fuel you simply remove the fuel line and turn t to open and the fuel should drain out. When I do that the fuel does not drain. In fact my generator frequently stalls out as if starved for fuel. Does anyone know if that means the fuel **** needs replaced? When I removed it and tried to blow air through it it wouldn't allow the air to flow through it in the open or closed positions. Any ideas?

It sounds like the pickup tube in the tank is blocked. Try blowing air back through the fuel petcock into the tank- you may need compressed air to get enough pressure, but that shuld blow out any obstructions. They would still be in the tank though and could cause a problem again.

Stalls out

I own this generator and have the same problem. There is a design flaw that is likely the culprit. The engine uses a gravity fed fuel system. That's all well and good but that means the fuel must be above the highest point in the fuel line to feed properly. The easiest thing to do is completely fill your generator when you use it and it will die with 2-3 gallons of fuel remaining. If you want to fix the issue you will need to reroute the fuel line to be below the base of the tank for its entire length.

I have experimented with multiple fuel levels and fuel line configurations. I have also left the gas cap loose and removed fuel filter per recommendations from others. The base of the fuel tank on my unit is roughly 15.5 inches. The fuel valve is at 16.25 and the highest part of the fuel line is over 17! That simply will not feed fuel when the tank gets below 4 gallons and the generator will stall. Bad design by Ridgid on the fuel line routing. Only about a 30 minute fix though with some fuel line, cable ties and a small tool set.

I need to drain my Honda Activa petrol tank as I need to transport it to Bangalore. How do I do this.

Shut off valve at the bottom of tank. remove fuel line from carburetor and point it into an approved fuel container. Open fuel valve and drain tank. If you have a reserve setting on your valve, turn it to that to get all the fuel out. Then, look the the bowl of your carburetor. At the bottom there is a small drain line. Above that drain line is a slotted screw. Point that drain line into a container and turn the screw left to drain the fuel out of the carburetor bowl. Retighten the screw after it drains. Place your fuel tank valve to off.

I have a Onan 7.5 from 1998. only 80 hours on it. Would turn over very slow and would not start. Will not turn at all now. Fuel pump and celinoid kick in. Took out starter had it tested and it was ok. What...

If you have it for 12 years, it ran only 80 hours, it may have got rusty.
If you can open generator back cover, try to see the condition of generator iron (stator and rotor).Check the bearings.
Check the oil (level and condition, it may have water or gas in it).
Take out the spark plug and without fuel try to turn the motor manually.
If you can turn it, try to clean if any rusty parts, drain the oil, clean the crankcase with cleaning oil (make a few turns)and fill it with good new oil.
Try to spray some WD 40 or some rust remover spray where you may have rust: the generator interspace, bearing legs, through the spark plug hole etc.
Thats all I can advice now. If no result try another quiary.

Wrong fuel. I used a 40:1 mixture instead of straight gas need to know how to clean it out

Simple fix- Close fuel valve disconnect the fuel line below the shut off valve then open fuel valve and drain fuel out of tank into a safe device that will hold the amount that's in the tank. When done draining close valve reconnect fuel line and refill tank with fresh fuel. The oil in the gas won't hurt your engine it could fowl your spark plug if so just remove clean and re-gap.
