Question about Life Fitness Nut Lock, Cranknut, Lifecycle 6500HR/8500/8500HR/9100

1 Answer

The Fit Test and Fat Burn do not light up as an option on my Lifecycle 6500HR bike, they used to work now they don't.

I have replaced the battery and taken the console apart and looked at the board nothing appears bad.

When you cycle through the options to decide what pattern you want to use on the bike, the Fit Test and Fat Burn options do not light up. It bypasses both of those options. It just continues to cycle between the other options never giving you the option to run the fit test. It worked nine months ago when we bought it as both my wife and I have used the fit test. Now all of a sudden it doesn't work.

This really sounds like there is a problem with your console. You might consider contacting LifeFitness for replacement options and or further troubleshooting. 1-800-351-3737 is the contact phone number for them directly.

How do I can replace console batteries

Hi Abraham.

What I'm finding in the way of manuals isn't more specific than that the system uses 2 'D' size batteries, which should last about 800 hours. A review here
Lifecycle GX Review Spin Bike Reviews Indoors Fitness (about 2/3 way down the page) mentions that the batteries are in the console and easy to replace. I'd look for a battery door, likely secured with a small phillips head screw, and large enough to accommodate D Cells. It also mentions that there is a low-battery warning at the top of the console.

Hoping this narrows it down for you.

Screen wont work no display present

Most likely a dead battery, you could also check and make sure that that the sensor for the flywheel is in tact

You'll have to open up the battery assembly compartment on the user lower left side and replace your old batteries.

The LifeCycle GX power requirements are

• Battery: 2 D-Cell batteries
• Approximate Battery life: 800hrs

How do I remove the pedals on a 8500 life fitness recumbent bike

Using a wrench, you remove the left pedal as you would loosen a normal, left hand threaded bolt. The right side is a reverse thread and would need to be loosened in the opposite direction.

The Lifefitness Lifesyscle 9500HR battery location is at in the lower portion of the recumbent bike. This is a 1/2 to one hour task for most do it yourself'er.
In order to gain access to the battery compartment, you has to remove the pedals.

On the bottom the bike frame their should be s# plate. If you need to replace the battery you need to: first remove the foot pedals, then side panels.

A 6v @ 2.5Ah battery should be in the frame p01001700030685.jpg

I was told that my lifecycle 9500hr wasnt turning on because of the alternator. I replaced that and the display still wont turn on...any ideas of how to fix this????

You were probably steered wrong. I would expect the battery is the problem.

Use a voltmeter to check voltages.

If the battery is fully down, the alternator MAY have to have the field "flashed" to start generating.

In an automobile the current throu the alternator "idiot light" DOES THIS AUTOMATICALLY.but for your lifecycle I don't know how they do that unless the alternator uses permanent magnets.
