If you mean Restore or Recovery the Laptop, Restore will restore to a date selected. A Recovery will reload Factory Settings to the day it came out of the box, if you have a Recovery Partition, you will lose ALL you data and ALL the Windows and Asus updates must be re installed. I don't know the Asus Model, Restore or Recovery, choose the correct one. You can find a user manual at Asus Support: http://support.asus.com/ServiceHome.aspx?SLanguage=en
If the date was always changing to the same date in the past it would be a cmos battery but since you said it has also moved forward then most likely its a virus issue. Update your antivirus and run a scan sometimes this will fix the issue but often times once you are infected an antivirus scan will not fix the issue. Unless you have a way to boot into a live cd and run a scan I would take it to a local repair shop for a diagnostic.
You will be able to update your BIOS from asus web site. Just fill in the details and get your update. However a BIOS update should only be done if this message appears during any operation of the PC.............sodeep
