Make sure the speakers are not turned off by looking in the audio menu. also nothing plugged in to headphone jack. Otherwise you will need main board replaced.

You can check everything (settings) under the Sound in the Control Panel.
You can do: [Start], Control Panel, Sound.
Also please check volume control somewhere on the laptop's body. Some models of Toshiba laptop have a manual volume control.

How do i turn my sound up

The Windows operating system on your Toshiba laptop contains a functionality that allows you to increase the volume.

Your laptop's volume is a measure of the decibel levels of sound that your Toshiba laptop will put out.

If you are having trouble hearing music of video files, you may need to boost the sound volume, which can be accomplished by following several steps.

Press the "Start" button on your desktop.

Click on the "Control Panel" icon then double-click on the icon labeled "Sounds and Audio Devices."

Click on the "Volume" tab then move the device volume slider to increase the volume.

Close the "Control Panel" when you have completed the operation, and your volume should be louder.

Hope this helps.

when you put it back together the volume selector (on the board) was all the way to the right and the volume slider (on the case) was all the way to the left which won't allow you to turn the volume up all the way. if this is not the case let me know @
