Need more info, is the wires soldered on, has one broken, on board do you get a reading an not on meter? Could be meter or poor solder or broken wires. Because you dont get readings at all, tells me its more likely the meter or connections

SOURCE: My superstar 3900 transmits on one channel and receives on one ch

Ok! well i deffinitally know what the problem is. You need to play with the clarifier, i think all the way to the left is a "course and fine tune" knob. This is generally for use when talking on SSB. but may affect AM if its way off.

The clarifier lets you slide on the freq. some radios will go a full channel some will only go a little or above the center of the channel. You need to play with the clarifier, you probably need to turn the course a lot, untill the audio is almost clear on the channel you want to talk on, than use the fine to tune it in so it sounds like they are sitting right next to you.

what you should do is buy a Frequency counter, you got a nice radio, so the freq. counter wouldent hurt. lets say you want to be on channel 19. you would turn the clarifiers untill i read 27.1850 That would put you right on the money

SOURCE: a need help on my superstar 3900 the signal meter

The FM has no forward modulation. You're radio will key up but you can't transmit on it. All cb radio are like that after conversion.

Tring to wire up sadelta hand mic the mb-4 to the superstar 3900 but dont know the wiring there are 5 wires the couler of the wires are screen white red green andbrown can you help

I would like to state there are two ways to do this, one way is too open the radio cover up and look at the back of the jack where the mic goes and the color of the wires should be the same, or you can do it the second way which is a little longer and patience to do take the wires of the mic and touch one at a time to a prong one should get you sound when its right the other should transmit when you push the handle to talk on the mic

Repeats selection and won't chage seletion. superstar 3600

Obviously your channel display must be working. I would assume the radio has sustain some harsh trauma to the channel selector itself possibly a drop.
Remove the speaker side cover looking down on the channel selector and its pcb board check connection and between the mechanical switch and pcb.
This may be as simple as a cold solder joint the problem is finding it.
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/superstar/3900/graphics/ss3900_sch.gif the schematic is for the 3900 which i believe are similar units.

I have a 3900 that has good signal but no audio check the mic and the plug out and all the joints all look good. Also checked the mic on another rig and it works fine.

Sounds like to me you regulator is bad, the dig three legged one in the back mounted to the side of the radio, if you have a meter check to see, outside legs should read 13 middle one at least 5 volts. This will cause you not to have key.

Superstar 3900 with no USB or LSB on receive.

most likely been fiddled with and out of alignment. If you have a freq counter and a volt meter you could possibly fix it yourself. look at cbtricks.com for the aligment procedure.
