If not heating at all try this. Go to electrical panel box and find the breaker labeled Dryer. It should have 2 joined together levers. Turn it off and see that the dryer is OFF (this verifies you have the right one) Operate this breaker back and forth (on and off) at least ten times. Then put it in the ON position and try dryer again. If it works you have a bad (intermittent) circuit breaker. Get an electrical handyman to change the breaker. If changing the breaker does not fix it you may need an appliance repair person. Why this is. The cycling on and off of the heat at the dryer is rough on circuit breakers. If this dryer has been in place for some years and replaced another dryer it is probable that the circuit breaker was not changed. BTW the dryer functions (except heat) operate from one side of that 2 sided breaker, while the HEAT operates from both sides at HIGH current.

SOURCE: Intermittent Heat

For what its worth, I found out what was wrong with the Kenmore Elite 110-62882101. The circuit board works a small relay that works the heating element. We replaced the thermister, then the circuit board - to no avail! Finally, we replaced the relay, and the problem ended. Seems that the relay didn't always make up even though it clicked. It's a Potter Brumfield (and old line company) but made in China (what isn't?). The guy is the local parts store says the motor relay is the same type (they look alike) and that these caused trouble in the past. The heat circuit didn't use relays in the past (when there were thermostats), but they do now (that temperature is controlled by thermisters and circuit boards). So, the lowly, seemingly simple and reliable heat relay can be the problem - if your dryer has one. --- Powerguy

SOURCE: Dryer is getting hot but clothes are not drying

You have a vent problem. Eliminate all (if possible) flex duct (replacing with ridged aluminum pipe and aluminum elbows). Clean lint out of remaining vent pipe. Make sure vent is not crushed or obstructed, especially behind the dryer. If possible, make sure outside vent termination is not a two inch opening. (you want a full 4 inches)

SOURCE: Frigidaire dryer heats but clothes not drying

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.

Dryer heats randomly..Igniter is working.

Generally operation when cold that worsens with use indicates a component that is failing when hot. Start at the burner with the coils and work your way back to relays on the control. Sounds a lot like a bad coil on the burner. I have seen these do 2 complete loads then fail. Setting over night and cooling off will work again the same way. Intermittent conditions are a real challenge sometimes.

Dryer is not heating air

Sounds like the heating element or coil is out, but it could also be the board to. At any rate, if your not getting any heat what so ever, its more than likely electrical and its best to take it in. If it gets some kind of heat, then you might try cleaning out your dryer vents really good, and also in the dryer. Hope this helps.
