My dryer is not heating so what is wrong with it

It is a strong possibility the heating element is gone out. To fix that you need to remove or raise the top, remove the front panel. Get the drum out, and clean up the lint. Lint can also cause the dryer to malfunction. I did one yesterday. Both coils gone. Lint caused them to burn out. A piece of lint makes a hot spot. Plenty of videos showing how to on youtube for hotpoint or ge dryers.

DRYER GENERAL ELECTRIC SUPER CAPACITY. APPARENTLY IT IS WORKING BECAUSE IT HEAT BUT THE CLOTHES ARE WET

Hello,

A leading cause of poor drying results in that type of dryer is lint build up in the blower/lint filter housing. That build up will restrict air flow through the dryer causing very long dry times. To repair that the front panel would need to be removed and clean all the lint build up from that housing and blower wheel area.

To remove the front panel DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DRYER, on the bottom of the dryer inside of the door rim will be 2 phillips headed screws, remove those and lift off the top. At the top corners where the front panel connects to the cabinet will be 2 more phillips headed screws remove those and the front panel will pull off and out of the way. With the front panel off the blower housing will be in the lower left side clean lint from it and also the sure to clean all the lint from the lint filter housing which will be attached to the back side of the front panel. In addation to cleaning that area be sure to check and clean the exhaust duct tube as well.

The lint intake grate on the dryer is stuffed full of lint but i can't figure out how to remove it to clean the intake

We usually remove the entire front panel of the dryer but it is quite an undertaking. You might be just as happy to work with a small stiff bristle brush, piece of wire and a vacuum.

The dryer is not dryer the cloths. I think the lint filter is clogged

Your lint fllter should be readily accessible and should be cleaned before each cycle. If this has been building up for a whle, I highly recommend cleaning the interior of the dryer. This requires removing the front panel and vacuuming the lint out of the machine.
Be careful not to touch any of the heating elements with the vac.
Also it is a good idea to clean the exhaust vent periodically. Detach the flex connection from the machine and check that it's not plugged as well. Hope this gets things dryin' again.

How to get the front panel off GE Profile Harmony

Here's a simple overview of what you have to do:

You actually don't remove the back sir, but that's okay, that's a common misconception for this model dryer. The proper way to disassemble this particular dryer is you start with the top. You have to start with the removal of the control panel, then the top of the dryer. What I would consider the top cover. Then you'll have to remove two plastic brackets. Then you have to remove the front. There's two aluminum brackets in each corner, remove those. Open the door and there'll be two more screws to remove on each side. You have to lift the front just a little and then pull towards you. I forgot to mention, before that part, you'll need to ensure you are disconnecting the electrical wiring. There's almost no chance of connecting the wrong ones even if you forget. GE made this part novice proof. Once you get the front removed, you'll see the lint/trap. There's a couple of screws on either side of the aluminum housing. Not much to it. Let me know if there's anything I can clarify further. Have fun!

Remove lint holder on ge front loader dryer

I have the exact same problem. I am amazed at had been the engineering is for such a simple process. The user guide just says to clean the lint filter. Even when doing so, there is still an excessive build up of lint beyond reach. There are no instructions that mention how to clean this part. It is obvious that GE did not test this part of the machine.

REMOVE FRONT PANEL - ZIPPER PARTS STUCK IN DRUM GUIDE.

I found the parts manual on line at GE Appliances.

The replacement parts for the top indicated pictured two clips holding the front of the dryer in place.

I tried a narrow screw driver on the clips and that released the top.

With the top off, removing the front panel required removing two screws, lifting the drum and pulling slightly on the front panel.

After removing the wires from the door switch, I was able to find the broken zipper, clean out the fan, remove excess lint and reassemble.
