If you have a 3G phone in the house, It operates at the same frequency and is a nono.
If not I would suggest you completley rest modem and re-enter U/N, P/W etc and set up secure network also. If still a problem, maybe faulty modem.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on wireless then wireless security Enable WEP then enter new password save settings and restart router .Then you can connect wireless with new password. Before you start :
Make Sure the Wireless Switch on your Computer is turned Off (If you are using a laptop to connect to the router )
Make sure that the Light on the Router is Solid Green
Step 1 : connect a computer to the router (Wired)
Step 2 : Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar of Internet Explorer
Step 3 : Once you are at the router setup .. on the left side underneath Wireless you can find Wi-Fi Protected Setup
Step 4 : If it is asking for a password .. leave the password field blank and click submit
Step 5 : Disable Wi Fi Protected Setup and click apply changes
Step 6 : Now on the left under wireless click Security
Step 7 : If it is asking for a password .. leave the password field blank and click submit
Step 8 : Change the Security mode to WPA-PSK (you can also choose WPA-2 but sometimes it doesnt work )
Step 9 : Type a password (8 Characters , It is Case Sensitive)
Step 10: Click apply Changes
Step 11: On the left , Under Wireless Click Channel and SSiD
Step 12: Change the SSiD to a Different name , Change the Wireless Channel to 11
Step 13:Click Apply Changes
Turn On the Wireless Switch on the Computer (If you are using a Laptop to Connect between router)
Now try to Connect to this new network on both your wireless Computers and Ipad

Your iPAd should see your wireless network like other devices do. Does your iPad not prompt you to connect to your home network? If it does you should enter your wireless pass key manually on your iPad.
