My nokia 6500s-1, the memory card drive is not picking.

Hello. If your memory card is ok. The only thing you need to do is to check the back cover. On the back cover left hand side near the memory card location there is a switch (pin) which plays the mmc leap switch to press or giving connection to the phone. So, first remove the back cover and open the Gallery in your phone and press the Pin (switch) which is located in the left hand side of the memory card slot.If it works just put a piece of paper/ something to press the switch permanently.Otherwise contact mobile repairing shop.Good luck

I am having an error appear (card locked) when the camera is turned on with the card in it. How do I unlock it. thanks jared

The camera uses an SD memory card to store the photos. Eject the memory card. Hold the memory card face up and right side up so that you can read it (with the label on it). On the left hand side of the memory card there is a small switch. Gentle slide the switch up so that it isn't in the lock position.

I just bought a new sd 2mb sandisk card but computer won't detect it

Are you using a Memory Card adapter? Or are you using the SD slots that are built into your computer?
Go to the 'Start' menu and choose "My Computer"

The card should be there, if not, then make sure that the little 'lock' button isn't set to lock.

A lot of times when you insert the card, it will switch the position from unlocked to locked.

Good luck

My memory stick is write protective and i can`t solve it. how can i solve.

OK, if the memory card itself is locked, you might sometimes get this error code. All you need to do is to take out the memory card and switch the lever on the left side to the unlock.

If the error is still displayed after you did the above, you might want to try the card in another camera.

If the card works in another camera . the problem is with your card reader in your camera.

If you open you sd slot and look inside with a sharp light , you should be able to see on the left side of the slot there is a little copper or spring steel lever switch. This switch work as follows:

1. When no card is inserted / no write protection , the switch is open and thus the protection is off.
2. When locked card is inserted , the tab is depressed and tells the camera that the card is lock.

Contrary to popular belief ,the little tab on the sd card is not an electronic switch and does not physically influence the card operation itself. If you put a locked card into a camera without a sd lock switch , you would still be able to use the card normally.

It is incredible difficult to fix this switch because of space limitations in the sd card. Look into the sd slot and if you can see the switch , use a needle to pull the little tab down toward the base of the camera by about 2mm or until it works being careful not to bend it.

If this does not resolve your problem , there might be a short in the switch circuit and the camera will need to be disassembled to resolve this error. This should cost no more than $50.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information

Kind regards

My phone says my SD card is locked so I can't delete photos or anything how do I unlock it?

Look carefully at the card; It has a little switch on it's left side.
Change it's position (usually UP means Unlocked) and you're ready to go! :)

My card keeps saying that it is write protected and wont let me take pictures, modify pictures or delete them. Why is it doing this?

There is a little slide switch on the left side with the connector away from you and connector on the bottom. Slide it towards the connector or away from the connector.
This may be your problem or the switch may even be damaged.
