Question about Optoma HD80 Projector
When switched on it self-tests OK then starts noises of fan, color wheel, lamp lights then after 10-20seconds all stops no fan or color wheel noise and lamp goes off and all control panel lights continuously flash blue together, no red warning lamps. Cannot switch off with Power switch only unplug mains lead, when reconnected after 15 minutes exactly the same problem, lamp is about 200 hours old and was Optoma genuine lamp. Can anyone help please
Sound like the original color wheel for Optoma HD80 is bad.
If the unit has been moved when hot.
If not, try un-plugging the unit for a few minutes and re-connect.
Hope this helps

AS regretable as this sounds component failiure was my first thought .. It's not the bulb temp sensor as the fan is opperating and that usually cuts all power .
You may find that as you have a bulb ( usually worth more than the units they reside in ) rather than a repair another unit of Ebay would be a safer and more economic conclusion ... Regards Vortash

Did you resolve this issue. I am facing a similar on. After a few minutes, the lamp shut down and the the red lamp light turns on. I was thinking it is an overheating issue.
