We had a similiar issue with our SAMSUNG Plasma TV. It had a 2'or 3" vertical bar of random colors on the right side of the screen. It would also go away but then come back. Fortunately for us the TV was still under its original 1yr manufacturers warranty. We called the customer support and they scheduled a service call. The TV repair man took our TV to the shop and replaced the defective components. It took about 3 weeks for the repair.
Still under warrenty?Yes,call the tv manufacture, get this tv replaced quickly. The Plasma screen is developing a burn in dead pixels. This problems, can't not be repair.Except replaced the Plasma screen itself. The plasma screen panel are 90% of the tvs,not worth repairing,if it damages or broken. Will cost the same as a new tv,if the screen require replacing.Still under warrenty call it in right away to get the picture screen replaced under warrenty.
There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:
1) Replace the batteries on your remote control. 2) Try resetting the logic functions on yourtv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in. 3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop. 4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-videosystem? Changed to a new remote?
