There is an average of tree accidents in a week, what is the probability of exactly four accidents in a wek

First, the Poisson Distribution describes events which have a small probability of occurrence at any very precise single value, like 3.546732190, but which nonetheless occur very very frequently in a range of values. Also the mean or average or expected value are the same as the variance, in your case, three (I think you meant three).

So looking up the tables for this (or plugging it in Excel) the prob x=4 exactly is 0.1680

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

goodluck!

Suppose that astronomers estimate that large meteors (above a certain size) hit the earth on average once every 100 years (lamda = 1 event per 100 years), and that the number of meteor hits follows a Poisson distribution. What is the probability of k = 4 meteors hits in the next 100 years?

You want to enter an exponential of some sort. There is a key for that function. Look for the natural logarithm function whose key is marked [LN]. The exponential function key is accessed through [2nd] or [Shift] followed by [LN].

If exponent is negative, use the change sign key (-) or +/- to enter the negative sign, followed by the exponent.

See the screen capture that follows.

Hiya while I am not sure of what you mean exactly as an evergreen carpet I do know that if you want a plant or tree to survive don't use round up near it. Roundup is an extremely strong effective herbicide which will kill any living plant (more precisely the leaves) it touches. It also takes very little to kill a plant or tree.

Having said all that. I have had an issue with Lilly of the valley taking over as our property was vacant for 20 years the plants went unchecked all that time. I have tried just about everything else nothing even slowed them down. Of course they are a shade plant and growing under all of my trees that lined the property and are well over 100 years old.

I hope this helps if you have any further questions please feel free to ask. Happy gardening

- I got a large pop bottle and punctured 2 holes in the lid and added the Roundup mix into the bottle.
- I collected several sheets of plastic and newspaper. It is my understanding as long as the chemical doesn't touch the other plants or roots they should be ok.
- What you want to do is to apply the round up to the leaves ( no need to soak everything down) Just a few good drops to the leaves of the target plants should do the trick.
- Use the plastic or paper to protect the other plants you want to keep. Wait a week to ten days and you should see them begin to die. Protect all plants from accidental contact. since accidents occur what I did was immediately break or cut the infected leaf then flush the plant really well with water. This worked like a charm for me.

There are a lot of probability distributions: binomial, chi-square, F, normal, poisson, and t, just to name a few. Do you have a particular one in mind?

As I stated earlier, you take this one step at a time.

The cat that bit you is white. That leaves four other cats: one white and three black. One of these four is up the tree. The probability that the cat in the tree is white is one out of four, or 25%.

The poissonpdf function computes a probability at x for the discrete Poisson distribution with the specified mean u, which must be a real number >0. x can be an integer or a list of integers.

As an example, to compute the probability with mean 1.9 and x=4, press

2ND [DISTR] ALPHA [C]

enter 1.9 on the first line and press ENTER

enter 4 on the second line and press ENTER

press ENTER again.

This will paste poissonpdf(1.9,4) onto the command line. Press ENTER again to see the result (about 0.08).

Before you buy a remote have the old one tested--most shops and Radio Shack will do this for free.

Remote gets pointed at a laminated card and when buttons are pressed strip on card lights up.

In an average week I "fix" four or five remotes for customers.

coolant leaking into engine probably blown head gaskets. More damage will occur the more you drive it. Unfortunate and expensive repair on a northstar.

It all depends on the speed you hit tree. BMW can scan computer and track back any faults. Hopefully SRS/check engine light wasn't lit when you were involved in accident.
