DGM Monitor problem

Hi,
My monitor was running fine on a computer, but then it suddenly went blank. I think it has something to do with the VGA port, because it doesn't seem to do anything when i plug it into the computer. I turn the screen on the light goes green for a second or more and then turns to orange again (orange - standby).
I have tried on a different computer, with a different VGA lead, still didn't work.
What do i do, is there a way of fixing it myself, or easily fixed by an expert, cheaply.
I tried to see what the problem was myself, i opened the screen up, but couldn't see anything dusty or out of place. What do i do, please help!
It's a DGM monitor -  Model: L-1531W

I have a 17" DGM monitor. It has been working fine since July 2007 although I haven't used it much. Then yesterday it stopped working. The power is fine but it just says "no input signal" even when it is plugged into my computer. I have tried it with another computer and I get the same problem. I also cannot get the "on screen display" (OSD) to work. Please help :(

I have that problem but it started after a power cut not during I may add for OBVIOUS reasons!, however I think I've found a way of resolving the problem. I make sure the monitor connections are tightly in place and then switch the monitor off using the switch on the monitor so the amber and green light is off. I then unplug the power from the back of the monitor, I then switch the monitor on and the monitor flashes on and the green light flash's on. I make sure my PC has booted up and re attach the power lead to the back of the monitor and then switch the monitor on using the button on the front ! and with a bit of luck the monitor display works ! why or how this works I don't have a clue but I've had to do this quiet a few times now much to my annoyance. If this doesn't work straight away try different combinations it might work slightly differently on your monitor my model no is L-1731.

I can supply a fully working identical monitor for about 15$. It is the same DGM boxed as new but with a broken screen. Just transplant your screen and it will be working 100% . Here is my - ebay listing

This should enable a complete cure - please rate this as Fixya

Are not dgm's under a 3 year warranty?

DGM are ****. I work for a school where we buy these by the bulk from Dabs... within months whole ICT rooms of 30 or 40 machines are down from monitor defects. Customer service from DGM is useless too. Been awaiting information on the repairs for 30 monitors and as not heard anything yet.... (2 months later!)

My screen on hp 1907 went blank, my 13 yr old nephew started punching all the buttons on the monitor over and over and hitting the on and off button. Now I am having a problem with my screen going black...

I think it's pretty clear he messed something up. Try checking the VGA cable (the blue one) that's hooked up to both you computer and monitor. Check if any pins are bent or broken. If not, make sure they're securely plugged in and try booting up. If it still doesn't work, then I'm afraid he may have knocked some connection in the motherboard out of whack. I hope it's just a slight VGA problem. Hope this helps!

no signal coming out from the video card input to your monitor. better check if the vga cable is properly fix on the video card and the monitor. you may need also to disconnect the video card from the motherboard and reseat it properly.

just make sure computer is turn off when you do this.

let me know if i can help you further.

Computer boots fine but the monitor is blank

if the monitor works fine on your laptop, the problem definitely is at the computer, possibly with the video card (if it is using one). it could have loose connection, or parts might have damages. it seems the problem is intermittent so electronic component of the video card could have parts partially damages or leaky components.
if your still using the motherboards built in video out put, try installing a new video card.

For DVI you need to probably upgrade your cheap graphics card, something not that expensive would be a ATI Radeon HD2400 Pro, it'll do. May want to check what pwer supply maybe required on your PC.
