My kenmore dryer drys clothes way way too hot. wife cannot touch clothes. i do kn ow the vent line was off dryer was

Hello,

A leading cause of over heating in a dryer is a blocked vent from the back of dryer to wherever the vent exits the house,if you run the dryer and their is a good volume of air flow at the back of the dryer where vent connects to THE VENT CAN TOTALLY BE ELIMINATED AS A PROBLEM, but istead dependiging on if your model is computer controlled or has a timer and no digital display.
If computer controlled the problem is the THERMISTOR (electronic thermostat) is the problem
If analog controls the CYCLING THERMOSTAT needs to be replaced
if poor air flow from back of dryer need to check lint filter/blower housing for blockage

Good luck
I hope this helps, if it does please give me a 4 thumbs up rating

Our dryer works but it takes about two full cycles at 60 minutes each on high to dry the clothes

Sounds like the vent is plugged. Disconnect the vent hose from the vent and test again. If it drys normally your vent is plugged and will need to be cleaned.

Dryer runs and drys cloths but dosent cool down and stop

when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?unplug the dryer, remove the bottom panel, take out the lint filter and remove the duct that it slides into.clean the duct out,vac out the inside of dryer,if you have a shop vac you can put it on blow and blow the lint forwards so you don't ha ve to remove the drum.put that back together and remove the vent line from the back of dryer,if it's a long run blow it out with a leaf blower, also make sure the outside vent is clear before you blow out the vent line,if the dryer can't move the air around it will run hot.

Dryer will not turn off

If your dryer seems to run forever, it could be because of a clogged vent or internal ductwork. Your dryer may have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry. It does this with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system.

Normally, this is what happens during an automatic cycle:

  • The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature--say 135 degrees.

  • When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. (If there's a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough.)

  • The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again.

This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But…if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix the problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork.

Kenmore 90 Series Gas Dryer that drys for 10 mins & shuts off...

Check the vent pipe going to the outside of the house, including the vent louver, to make sure the pipe is not partially or fully clogged with lint.

Your symptoms are a classic description of reduced or no airflow from the dryer.

Kenmore dryer isn't working

was the previos dryer taking a long time to dry??? Make sure a high velocity of air comes from the dryer with the vent unhooked there may be a internal restriction causing the long drying times, if there is no restriction then it is in the home vent line. To verify that it is a vent issue unhook the vent and do a load of clothes if it drys in 40-60min it is the vent.
