The output connection from the VCR/DVD needs to be different for the new digital TV. Instead of using the RF output from the VCR, use the video and audio outputs and connect them to the video and audio inputs on the digital TV. When you want to watch the VCR, select "video in" on the TV. The digital converter box should be hooked to the input of the VCR so you can record programs off-air.
With your TV in the DIGITAL mode to watch TV, it will not tune the ANALOG signal coming from the VCR/DVD player. You should use the video/audio input on the TV as a way to get the signal from the VCR/DVD. Using an Audio/Video cord which usually has three RCA type connectors on each end, one colored yellow, one colored red and one colored white, connect the output of the VCR/DVD unit to the AV input of the TV. Then bypass the tuning process and select the video input to watch the VCR/DVD.

This didn't help me as I can't get ch.3 on the tv therefore I can't get the vcr to program or play. How do I get ch.3 to respond? It indicates "no signal".
Thank you so very much. My vcr is now working and I can enjoy the many tapes I have been making for years. You truly offer a service that helps the average person. Regards, June
