Question about Computers & Internet
I have purchased a Microsoft Sculpt erganomic keyboard and Mouse - I note that to conserve the batteries in the Mouse I can switch it off on the underside, but I cannot find a switch on the keyboard to do the same - is my only option to remove the USB from the computer to conserve that batteries in the keyboard whilst continuing to allow the computer to download large blocks of information?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: BIOS Battery
After spending a couple of hours looking for the cmos battery I found it. It is located underneath the mouse keypad. To access it you must unscrew the front bottom of the laptop and be able to seperate to top and bottom portion of the laptop. On the right hand side you will see a pocket inside is the battery. I hope this helps.

Really, did not want to reinstall system, so keep looking and thinkinking about a solution. This patch works for getting the mouse to function, not sure if it will fix the targus presenter until further testing is complete. Microsoft Mouse driver 6.2 (Intellimouse 6.2)

You need to unload the USB drivers for the keyboard and let windows find them again at restart. How does a novice do this? It's not hard. Go to Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Keyboards. Right click on this and select uninstall. Reboot your machine. If the drivers are not corrupted they should load fine, if they are corrupted then Windows will ask for the original operating system disk.
All this assumes that your keyboards are electronically working. This last holiday season alot of people brought in their Logitech - Target specials that no longer worked. Seems that if you insert the batteries backwards once the keyboard no longer operates (mouse OK). Never checked in to it too deep.
