My HP laserjet 1200 prints black instead of greyscale images from a PDF

Created PDFs that have images in them, the images are printed black rather than greyscale. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. I have also tried the drivers from the hp support site to no avail. This was a hand-me-down printer being used on a Windows Vista 32bit. What settings in either Adobe or the printer need adjusting?

If you are printing online then you cannot print this document. Because this document is in flash. If you wana print this document then you can use print screen option from pc then you can print exact thing that you want.

Prints blacks fine, not printing grayscale.

Hi:

The answer to your question is very simple. If your document has a greyscale area, it is a color document and needs a color printer to print.

Greyscale is not light black printing, it is color in layers to give the visual impression of light black or grey.

Greyscale printing is only printable in a color printer, and does not use any black ink in its reproduction.

Sorry.

My HP5550 printer has started to print in black and white only. had just replaced the cyan cartridge that had run out mid print run and printer had message PRINTING WITH BLACK CART ONLY. All carts are HP...

when you attempt to print a document wait for the box to come up and instead of pressing print choose printer settings the colour tab. Choose print in colour as opposed to greyscale

I have a hp 3310 wireless. It prints in colour well but if you print in black most will be not clear although a line every so often is printed clearly. If you print the same document the same lines...

What you are trying to print is created in RGB. This means it is a photo that has been created in a color format that will ONLY print if you print it in full color. If you try to print your photo item in only black, it will only print what it sees in TV Colors, a combination of RED GREEN BLUE. This is why you will only get part of the image printed when only in black.

The only way to change it to print the whole image in all black, is to open the image you are trying to print in Photoshop or another professional grade photo program, and to change the settings of the image to CMYK, effectively, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black. Then, change the image once again - to GREYSCALE. This will effectively change all the colors to a SHADE OF GREY, in different HUES.

Save the picture as a JPEG, and then print from the desktop, from your picture viewing software that came with your computer, and you will see everything print out from the black ink, in greyscale.

Hp psc 1510 wont print some pdf files (blank pages come out)

I've run across this a few times. And its always the pdf you really wanted not the one you just finished printing (Sound familiar? ;-])

Assuming the pdf is not corrupted then you can be missing a font which you fix by telling it to use one you have. Or if that's not it try printing it in greyscale only. I have had issues with printing color pdfs that work when you print them black and white.

Problems with greyscale printing as colour on the Canon CLC3220

From whatever software you are printing, you will need to select the properties or features. In Pagemaker, it was features, but most other programs I now see it under properties for the 3220 on the print screen. You will need to find where it gives you the options for color. They should be color, greyscale or black & white. The default is generally color. Generally the 3220 will know if it is not a color document and print the black and white as a greyscale, but sometimes you have to force it.

If you are printing crop marks and color bars, then your document is recognized as color even though it may not be.

Finally, some programs use a black that is actuall 100% of CMY & K. If you are using InDesign and select registration as your black, instead of the plain black, then you document is recognized as color.
The same holds true if you select a pantone grey which is created from several colors. So also make sure that your document is truly greyscale and or that you tell the copier to print in greyscale.

Won's print pdf files

Trouble with the HP Laserjet printed output may be solved by using the following settings (or similarly named ones): "Use raster Graphics" (instead of "Use vector graphics"). This may fix the problem of "reversed" text (white on black background) not printing, as well as other problems. "Download TrueType Fonts as bitmap soft fonts" (select "bitmap" instead of "outline" or "graphics"). This may remove the overlapping of text on the printed document. "Graphics dithering" select "coarse" or "fine" (instead of "none"). This selection may improve the quality of images contained in the document. You can find all these settings in your printer properties. Go to File, Print, click Preferences, in Printing Preferences, click one by one all the top options, and change one of the top solutions, one at the time, checking your printing output. Always check if you have the latest version of Adobe Reader Program. If not download the latest version from Adobe, it's free. Is this the first time that you have the problem? or with the same printer (HP 4si), did you were able to print PDF files in the past?
