Question about Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
I have had the machine for nearly 6 years and this is the first time its asked me to decalcify. (For your info, I live in a soft water area). The Jura salesman told me it may have something to do with the filter not being activated. How do I go about activating the filter under "P"? There seems to be no way of selecting "filter" ON - I'm only given an option "NO"
If you read the instructions in the manual (Page 6) it describes how to descale (de-calsify) the machine. You use a vicious liquid to be used with great care. If you lost your manual go to http://www.coffeesolutions.jura.com/home_coffeesolutions_x/service_support/download_guidelines_jura_impressa_s9otc_english.pdf

SOURCE: Rinse error
How do we take the top of the Capressa Jura E8 machine off. The machine appears to be clogged and the Capresso people think that air has gotten into the machine do to a filter that was not soaked prior to putting in. Any suggestions? Thanks Mary

when the machine gives the signal press the bottom right hand button for 5 seconds.
it will tell you to open the knob.
before you open the knob fill the water tank with the descaling solution
place a large water receptacle under the steam wand.
now turn your knob
the machine will start to descale this can take a while
when the descale cycle is finished close the knob.
rinse the water tank out with fresh water and fill it will clean drinking water.
Press the same button on the bottom right to confirm that yo are doing the rinse cycle.
open with knob and the machine will start the rinse cycle.
when the rinse cycle is complete close the knob and load the circuit.
when descaling is over fit a new cartridge filter in your water tank and off you go with your descaled cleaned coffee machine.

SOURCE: No steam on Capresso Impressa S8
Most likely problem is over temp cut out switch. Small diode attached to the boiler to prevent damage during boil dry, or fault in the heating element itself. Difficult machines to repair and best handled by a service technician.

We have the S8 here at our office. Ran the cleaning cycle and "Clean Now" message was still on and beeping afterwards. Read the Feb 28 comment and carefully cleaned everything that had grounds stuck to it. Ran the cycle again and it worked. Thanks all.
