Cuts off restarts randomly

A relay may be going bad. Next time it quits and doesn't restart, run some troubleshooting steps to look for the problem.

It's very possible you have a bad ignition switch. My '96 LXi had the same problem, plus it tended to randomly drop into "Limp Mode" at any speed.

After replacing the ignition switch (3 years ago) neither of those problems has resurfaced.

Take it in to have a scran done on it, Most auto part store have a scranner, There is no charge to have it check out,

GM's antitheft system, has been known to cause such troubles. Read thru this link and decide if this is your problem.

i have this similar problem, randomly cuts power. i already tried replacing the toy in the market where i bought it. but after a few days it cuts power again randomly. im still trying to find solutions for this. let me know if you have found one, thanks.

sounds like the map sensor is bad!!!

sounds like the crank sensor, check engine light should come on and store a code in it have this checked and see what it is, i had a 95 lesabre that did the same thing and the crank sensor was the problem.

Try to reset it and reload the firmware.

hey gt: I have a similar problem with my JVC PDR 30 cd deck. It seems to happen in the hot weather. Tried the cd in my other vehicle and it works fine,, If I can find out more will let you know.
