I've got a k6 1000,the f1 code comes up and when that does the bike goes off a cylinder,when I turn the bike off it goes back to normal again, any help would be great thanks

When i got the bike it wasnt running .it had no coils ,no plugs .iv bought new ones and need to know what lead goes were from waht coil .


The coil for the #1/4 spark plugs is mounted on the left side of the bike, and has the solid orange (ground) wire and the red-with-white-tracer-stripe (hot) wire input leading to it.

The coil for the #2/3 spark plugs is mounted on the right side of the bike, and has the solid grey (ground) wire and the red-with-white-tracer-stripe (hot) wire input leading to it.

does the hand clutch work or broken cable - is the foot shifter turning the shaft that goes into transmission -or shifter fork in transmission bent - put bike on center stand turn back wheel by hand to see if goes into gear when press on foot shifter

Signal lights on R1 don't work...


Though I can't recall what the wire colors are for your bike's turn signals, here's how to figure it out: on the turn signals that you bought, first determine which wire is the ground by removing the light bulb and then checking to see which wire has continuity to the turn signal's metal bulb socket base.
Then find out which wire is the running light and which is the turn signal by hooking the ground wire and one of the other wires to a 12 volt power source. Which ever wire makes the brighter part of the bulb light up is the turn signal - the dimmer one is for the running light.
On the bike, match the turn signal wire to the bike's wiring that is 'hot' with the turn signal switch on. Plug the running light wire from the turn signal into the bike's wiring that is 'hot' whever the key is on. Hook the turn signal ground wire to the bike's ground wire(s).

Front wheel wobbles


More than likely the wheel is out of true. There are 2 choices,

1 Buy a spoke wrench and attemp to true the wheel. You can do this by spinning the wheel to locate the spot where the wheel goes furthest to one side then tighten the spoke coming from the opposite side. Do this slowly 1/2 turn at a time. Do not over tighten the spoke. It may be necessary to loosen the other side slightly.

Alternate spokes between both sides of wobble.

2 Take bike to a good local bike shop to be tuned and have the wheels trued. Most shops offer a tune up at low cost. A well tuned bike will last a long time.

Battery is not getting charge from the bike


Hi,

A most likely possibility is the voltage regulator. In some instances, it could just be corroded terminals/connectors. Likewise please check the wires coming from the alternator/stator that goes to the voltage regulator.

Chain Rubbing

I'm not sure if it's rubbing on the front or rear shifter. The front is more common, so I'll try that first. The shifter pushes the chain left (lower gear) and right (higher gear) to shift - if it's rubbing, then it may be trying to shift. If it can't be fixed by using the shifter directly, which you've probably tried already, you'll probably need to adjust the cable.

There are two ways to adjust the cable, with a barrel adjuster and with a wrench. The barrel is the piece between the cable housing (plastic tube the cable goes through, usually black) and the shifter. If it's the front shifter, it will be the one one the left of your handlebars. Try 'unscrewing' the barrel a little bit at a time. It may be off in either direction, but 'unscrewing' will tighten the cable, and since you bought the bike in the summer, it's likely that the cable has stretched and become loose since then.

Count the number of turns and try only 1 at a time, watching to see if the rubbing goes away. If not, return it to where it was by turning the same number of turns the other way.

Without knowing whether it's the front or rear, which gear it's in and which side it's rubbing on, this is my best answer. Let me know and I'll adjust my advice!
