Question about Panasonic PT-52LCX65 44" HDTV

1 Answer

Panasonic PT 44LCX65 model

Hello,

I bought this TV a little over 2 years ago.  A few months back I had a light purple spot close to the middle of the screen.  Now I have two more on the left side and the right side of the tv.  You can see them when you have light colors, not that noticeable when they are dark colors.  Please help?

Thank you,

Eddie

I have the same TV with the same problem.

Panasonic service man says its the optic block, which I believe is the light engine. Estimated repair cost - $1725.

I'm trying to get Panasonic to support this repair as it's 6 months out of warranty.

Anyone with suggestions on how to get Panasonic to cover the repair, please let me know.

PANASONIC WITH FUZZY SPOTS

FIXYA TIP PANASONIC

I hope this not AN old TIP, but I still see it asked and not answered properly by some.

TIP:

PANASONIC:

MODELS: PT-44LCX65, PT-52LCX15, PT-52LCX65, PT-52LCX35,
PT-61LCX65, PT-61LCX35.

SYMPTOMS:
1. FUZZY SPOTS
2. FUZZY SPOTS WITH STAINS
3. FUZZY SPOTS & UPSIDE DOWN
4.. FUZZY SPOTS WITH LINES
5. LOOK LIKE BAD LIGHT ENGINE.

CORRECTION: SYMPTOMS CAN BE CORRECTED BY EEPROM CORRECTION TOOL; (LSUQ0100).

It is an easy repair (about 7 minutes), it takes longer to take the back off to perform this procedure.

Can't be purchased unless you have an account, customers can not purchase.

Thanks, Big IRISH.

Green blue and red spots across screen. I changed the bulb a few months ago.

You need to contact a serviceman. Your light engine needs replaced. Panasonic requires prior tech authorization for parts order fulfillment such as this. PN: TZSC03045 It will be costly, roughly $800 with $250 core charge. Labor and trip fees are another thing altogether. I hope this helps.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

For the spots....

I had the same problem, first a blue spot then a green spot showed up. I contacted Panasonic Customer Support. They sent someone out and they fixed the TV for free. They reprogrammed the EEPROM chip in the TV. It is a defect. My TV was 4 years old and out of warranty. They came out last week.

So long as it is not happening by something you have done. It will be fixed free of charge. Call them, it solves the problem.

I have a Panasonic model # PT-44LCX65 TV and have just replaced the lamp, as it was time to do so. A pink dot, that appeared before the old lamp needed replaced, remains on the picture. How is this fixed?

There are a few other threads on this board with the same issue, some say green spots, some say red spots, in my case it was blue/purple spots, but the solution is the same for all of them. Contact Panasonic and tell them that you read online that they are offering a warranty repair for this known "fuzzy spots" issue. They will send out a local repairman who will perform an EEPROM update to one of the computer chips inside of your TV, and viola good as new.
That is what others on this site suggested to me, and I did it and got all repairs covered under warranty by Panasonic even though my TV is 2+ out of the warranty period.
Good luck!

the spots can be helped with an eeprom update. call your AUTHORIZED Panasonic repair man. If you have picture with DVD then your problem is with your source input. Double check all your connections.

I had the same problem. Panasonic is kind of a pain about the whole thing. You have to find out who your local Panasonic repair place is, tell them there is a service bulletin and they will get on it. You must be diligent! Do not take no for an answer! If it comes down to it, and the repair shop won't do it for you, then call Panasonic and endure a loooooong wait time. Trust me though...this is the issue. Once the eeprom gets fixed/updated/whatever, the picture looks amazing! Good luck.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

Hi--Bought my panasonic pt-52lcx65 on sale for $2200 in 8/05. Replaced the lamp for about $300 in 1/08, just prior to Superbowl. Admittedly, this was to be expected after family members watched lots of tv over 30 months. However, two months later the blue spot emerged in 3/08, and red spot emerged 5/08. Set looks decorated by a Andy Warhol or Van Gogh wannabe. I'm looking for a fix it solution. Dr. Bob Heiliger, Lebanon, OH.
