Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer

2 Answers

CD printing About 85% of the time when I try to print on a CD, an error message comes up saying "The inner cover is open. Remove tray and close inner cover and resume." Of COURSE the inner cover is open - because I am trying to print on a CD in the CD-tray. I have done everything I can - in page setup I change to format for the ip4300, which indicates that it will print to the CD tray. In the printer setup I make sure that Quality and Media options are set to printable disc (recommended), to load from the CD tray. I don't see what else I can do! Please help!

Re: CD printing

Actually, I found a solution - someone suggested saving the CD print file as a PDF and printing from that, and that's helped.

Re: CD printing

There is a small, square button near the right, front corner. think of it as the button for the refrigerator light. It must be depressed by the closed top or maybe something to wedge it down. Duh

I should have added that the extra plastic insert thing that comes with the CD holder is used when you want to print on the smaller 8cm disks.

Hi, please try reseating the print head.

*Confirm that the printer is powered on.

*Open the paper output tray and top cover.
Note: Gently open the paper output tray while holding it.

*After confirming that the print head holder has moved to the center, open the inner cover.

*Remove all ink tanks.

*Raise the print head lock lever and remove the print head.

*Re-seat the print head into the print head holder and lower the print head lock lever until a click is heard.

*Insert the appropriate ink tank into the slot at the right end and push down on the PUSH mark on top of the ink tank until a click is heard. Install the other ink tanks in the same manner.

Cd tray error Canon Pixma MP810

Sorry a little late only just read your problem.
The location is not the bottom tray feeder but the disk tray. In settings change your media type to "Printable Disk" the paper scource should automatically change to "Disk Tray" and hopefully every thing will work OK.

  2. Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) completely. (The print head will move to the replacement position.)
