Question about Brother Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Filling Bobbin!!!!!!!!! I have a C55055PRW Project Runway model. I am new to sewing, and have spent days trying to figure out how to fill a bobbin. I can follow the directions up to the point of threading the machine to get ready to fill a bobbin, but when I begin filling the bobbin, I end up with a bobbin full of loops and loose looking thread. I am making sure that I push the bobbin to the right so it is against that little round thing, but nothing seems to work for me. I have wasted a spool of 250 yards of thread and am no closer to getting this figured out. BTW, I have looked at the manual, and I seem to be doing it right. But I guess I'm not. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Every time I use this machine something else is wrong with it :-(. Now the bobbin thread us bubbling up in the back of the material and there is a grinding sound as the needle hesitates to move. What

Try these suggestions
1. Change the needle--use a needle that's for the fabric being sewed
2. Rethread the machine--top --make sure to use every thread guide
3. try a different bobbin--make sure bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case, & make sure the bobbin is turned the correct way in the bobbin case
4. make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
5. Clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads

Messy looking bobbin not filling properly

There are a couple of things that could be causing this that you can check. First, when taking the thread from the spool and wrapping it around the little metal button on the top of the machine, you need to make sure the thread is pulled up under the button (I always compare it to dental floss)- this will ensure the thread is held at the proper tension.

Next, how are you threading the bobbin itself? The thread should pass between the two disks and out through the hole at the top. Make sure you leave a tail of about 3-4 inches to hold on to.

Last, when you put the bobbin onto the spindle on top of the machine, you need to twist the bobbin until you hear it click into place. If you look at the spindle there is a little piece of metal that looks kindof like a paperclip- this piece needs to align with the little notch on the inner hole of your bobbin.

Once ce you are ready and have checked all these things, hold the tail of thread coming out of the bobbin straight up in the air while you press the pedal and begin to wind. Once you've wound a decent amount of thread on the bobbin you can snip the tail and continue winding.

i hope this helps you!

White sewing machine model 1805 can't get it to sew the wheel turns and belt is ok . It is like the wheel is frozen Do you change it after filling a bobbin?

If I recall correctly, to fill a bobbin you must first release the belt from the wheel by loosening the knob on the small machine wheel. Then after the bobbin is filled you need to tighten that knob again. Do you have the manual?

Bobbin filling on Singer 626

The Singer 626 has a self-winding bobbin. You place the empty bobbin in the bobbin thingie (sorry for being so untechnical). On the left of the bobbin you will see a "lever" with a circular top on it (I think it is red-ish) Again, sorry for being so untechnical. Press the "lever" down. Thread your machine, thread the needle, wrap the excess thread from the needle around the knob that tightens the needle and holds it in place and press your foot down on the foot pedal. The bobbin will automatically wind as you hold the foot pedal down. Do not wind the thread onto the bobbin past the outer white line.
