The line in front of the pump which is your suction side is sucking air this line need to be replaced you can just cut the pipe off un tread the male connector and put more teflon tape on it but it will be only a temporary fix is always better to replace the male tread connector

I have a pb4 polaris booster pump that doesn't seem to put out enough pressure to run the pool sweep.

Check your in line screen and wall fitting to make sure they are right. Sometimes the over pressure button on the wall fitting will blow out.

Also, your local pool store should have a pressure stick they will lend you. It connects the end of the hose where the Polaris would be. You should be getting a least 28 psi. If you are getting less, you may have a clog in the booster pump's impeller. If you have that or more, the problem is internal to the Polaris. Verify that the backup valve is working properly as well.

Polaris tail not sweeping. I believe the impeller on the booster is clogged restricting water flow

If unit is operating satisfactorily otherwise, the check end of sweep tail for missing orifice tip. Without it tail won/t sweep. Also check adjusting screw. Out - more tail flow In - less.

Will the the pump run if it is connected

You can not connect the pump to run 'backwards' since the motor rotation is an internal connection you cannot change. Yes, the port should have water pressure, not a vacuum. Perhaps the wall inlet adapter is installed into the wrong wall port? Did someone change the wall port to allow for a suction side cleaner? Is this a new installation or sudden problem with an old one?

I have a Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas II (1.5hp) Pool pump and a Hayward Navigator sweep. The sweep was working then stopped. Pulled it apart found bad bearings replaced them. Ran sweep again worked at first...

Is the pump leaking water? If you lost the prime or are having trouble priming then there would be an air leak somewhere on the suction side of the pump. Poor suction would interfere with the sweep. One way to ell if the pump or suction line(s) are leaking is to examine the inlet basket once the pump is primed. Any air left in there after a few minutes of operation once primed would indicate a leak in the suction/pump.

Pump seems to running but the water pressure going to polaris does not change when you turn Pump on or off. Polaris is not performing as usual. Is there a way to check if pump is actually pumping the...

Disconnect the hose from the wall and with your hand fell how much pressure you have. It's possible you have an air lock. With the hose off the top fitting of the booster pump and the hose pointing away from you and electrical turn pump on and see what kind of pressure. This will also clear the air.
