Re: Setting the clok

I hope this helps as there were no other instructions avaiable for that model. If this is no good, I will try harder to get the exact manual.

How do i change the time on the clock?

Hi the details are below. Hope it helps I have added a link for the manual at the very bottom, Good luck with it.....
Time Adjusts the systems clock. The time difference (+, -) between the time originally set in your navigation system is set here. You can also select summer time On/Off. > Time settings, (See page 131) Summer Time Choose whether or not to take summer time into account. On: Summer time is taken into account. Off* Summer time is not taken into account...... When the period of summer time comes, or when the summer time ends, your navigation system does not automatically change the summer time setting. > Change the summer time setting, (see Page 131)
To set the time difference, touch "+" or ."-" The time difference between the time originally set in the navigation system (Pacific Standard Time) and the current location of your vehicle is shown. If necessary, adjust the time difference. Touching "+" or "-" changes the time difference display in one-hour increments. The time difference can be set from +3 to -3 hours. If necessary, set to summer time. Daylight Saving Time (DST) is off by default. Touch "Off" to change the time if you are in the daylight saving period. This turns the display below summer time "On". 9 To complete the setting, touch "Back". The map of your surroundings appears. This completes the setup of your navigation system. Chapter 1 explains the basic operation of your navigation system. > To change the time later, (see page 75)

How do you start the clocks on this until?

From Eclipse tech support...
Basically, as they said: The clock is set by the GPS. The unit needs to be On.

AVN-5500 Setting Daylight Saving time: The clock is set by the GPS. The unit needs to be On. Push the [MENU]
button once, on the display touch the [SETUP] icon, then touch the [TIME ZONE] icon, and then select DAYLIGHT
SAVING On/Off. Push the [OK] icon to 2 times to exit. Tech Support[Quote]

So it does not appear that it can be performed manually.
I hope that helps

Set the clock

The D3 is set automatically to West Coast (PST) Time. Only when you reset the D3 can you change the time. Hit the reset button and you'll start setting up the settings. It will bring you to the clock feature. Depending on where you are in the country you will need to hit the [+] button one click for each time zone east (i.e. East Coast (EST) is three clicks). Then you need to hit the "Summer Time" button becasue of Daylight Savings Time.
As for the Phone Book I don't use that feature so can't help you there
