No it is not a blood thinner. HCTZ is Hydrochlorothyazide. It is a diuretic. It is a drug that helps keep your body from absorbing too much salt.

IS A DIASTOLIC OF 50 AN SYSTOLIC OF 114 / HEART RATE 70 TO LOW

The 50 of 50/114 is a little low, the 114 is good. Talk to your physician as taking the meds every 12 hours may be wrong for you.

If you are checking your own blood pressure, always take it 2 or 3 times a couple of minutes apart and write it down. Take your blood pressure morning, lunch, evening and bedtime. Do it for a week and take the results to the doctor.

I take Diovan HCTZ which also has a diuretic. You probably realise, you need to lose a few pounds.

I'm a male of 66 years my blood pressure is 120/55 is that too low

It is foolish for a non-medical person who has not seen you to advise you. Best to see a doctor, but can also check this link: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/low-blood-pressure/basics/causes/con-20032298 or Google "low diastolic pressure" for more info.

Mayoclinic com low blood sugar symptoms

Low blood sugar can result in the sufferer appearing to be drunk, head aches, suddenly aggressive, feeling cold, not making sense when talking. Please note that different people can have some or non of these and or many others. I would recommend a blood glucose machine. It is important to eat at regular intervals through the day. Hope this helps.
