Scanner driver problems for MP810

I have just installed a ASUS WL500w wireless router to which my Canon MP810 plugs into via a usb port.
I can print from my PC and also print wirelesly from notebook.
My problem lies with the scanner.
It has stopped working.
If I try to open Navigator I get a mesage "the scanner driver supported by this software is not installed, install it and then retry."
I have installed the driver software several times.
I have even uninstalled all Canon software and drivers and done a fresh install but are still getting same message.
Your help is apreciated

Re: Scanner driver problems for MP810

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Official Canon Drivers and Software

After downloading is finished, unplug the USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Some Canon device may not be Vista compatible and cannot work on Vista.

Printer connected to a Asus router RT-n56u via usb port System with Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit Usb port enable through Asus Printer Utility Driver select (auto) during installation SAMSUNG UNIVERSAL PRINT...

I'm having the same issue with the same router and printer (mine is CLP-300/XXA).
At first when I try t print a pdf file or an image or any text/word document file with pictures/images I get an SPL-C error.
I have upgraded the firmware and it worked great on my laptop! Then, I tried to install the printer driver on my desktop, but now none of them work correctly.

Still not solved, but here are some suggestions:
1. Try to upgrade the firmware. 2. Try to install the original samsung printer driver 3.0.1
3. If it didn't work try to install the updated driver 3.0.4 4. If it didn't work try to install the Universal Printer Driver
5. IMPORTANT: between uninstalling and installing driver, disconnect both printer and router A/C power adapter and try to reboot you PC after removing the previous driver!
I'm going to work on it and see if it works. The DD-WRT firmware solved the exact same problem on my previous RT-N13U router, but unfortunately DD-WRT doesn't support RT-N56U yet!
Note: I called ASUS and they told me that Samsung printers are not supported for printer sharing server :(

Instead of using a usb cable, I want to print wirelessly from laptop or iPad to my Canon PIXMA MP810 Printer. I have a wireless router with spare ethernet plugs at rear. What are my alternatives ? for...

You could purchase a ethernet print server which will allow you to connect your printer to the router via ethernet cable. I recommend the TPLink TL-PS110U. I use this for one of the printers in my office.

Alternatively, you could purchase the TPLink
TL-WPS510U. This is a wireless print server. It will give you some freedom if you wish to locate your printer to somewhere other than beside your router.

I have a wire less network set up and want to use my lexmark x1270 so i can print wireless but cable is USB and do i need to get a cable to put into my router or??

You can't set it up wirelessly, persay. but you can use a special bluetooth adapter in the "pic bridge" slot on the front. I have seen them on e-bay from £5($8) to £12($17) or so.

This is happening because the system doesn't have Network Twain Port drivers installed.

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Printing from my laptop

I would need more information to help you with this problem. Do you have the correct and up-to-date Canon drivers installed in your laptop? Is the Canon operating as a wireless unit, or is it connected to the computer via USB cable? If wireless, is the Canon setup to operate wirelessly? If on a USB cable, is the USB port properly configured? Is the USB cable plugged in at both ends? The easiest thing to try is to go You can find downloadable drivers, installation instructions, and other documentation, free. The Canon drivers use an INSTALLATION WIZARD program to guide you through the printer set-up process.

Wireless Printer Setup

For installing a wireless printer on Windows XP, wireless router is an essential device.

Follow the recommended steps mentioned on the installation CD of the router, and set-up a wireless network.

Since several computers or laptops will access the printer, it0 1is recommended to connect the wireless printer to the main computer through the USB port.

Click the second option- Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.

The computer will search for available printer and reflect it on the screen.
