The mixture is too rich... it could be oxygen sensor or misread on intake manifold pressure.
If you have an aftermarket programmer on it, the mixture is too rich and is burning in the cat.... wasted fuel.
This is also a very dangerous situation.

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Where is my fuse located for my brake lights on a rx8

The owner's manual should tell you exactly where the fuses are located. Most are located in the foot-well area of the driver. Check the kick panel right where your left foot would rest and sometimes it could be above that under the dash panel next to the steering column. If this is an older Rx8, it could also be a poor ground.

How do I fix the power steering n my mazda rx8 04?

My RX8 had the same problem. First, change your battery cable ends. On the Positive cable there is a white wire that powers the power steering. It probably has a bad connection at the battery post. I cut the end off my rx8 and just put a regular battery cable end on it and my problem was solved.

Do you have a Logitech steering wheel, or a 2005 Mazda RX8 ?

Get the Mazda towed to a qualified repair-shop;
it is _NOT_ safe to drive it "as is",
given that your "power" steering is becoming "manual" steering, unpredictably.
