Infocus x2...the bulb melts the small square lens even w/ fan on

I've replaced my bulb which burned out...but now the new bulb melts the small square lens in front of it...even though the fan is on. I replaced the bulb again...and even the bulb housing, but the small square clear lens melted again. Why is this happening? How can I solve it?

There is more than one fan inside. one of them may not be working. also, if there is excessive dust inside, the heat won't leave. blow out all of the dust with canned air. if one of the fans are running slow, replace it. lastly, do not use an aftermarket lamp. get a good one from the comapny.

Where could I get the plastic lens for my infocus 61md10

Remove the little plastic lens and throw it away. There is no replacement available anyway. Reassemble the tv and it should work fine. Mine has been good for quite a while now.

Infocus IN24 Projector has large Dark Grey/Black Spot in the middle of the image.Lamp has 600 hours,Installed my spare "NEW" Lamp, still the same,Bulb makes no difference. Was watching a movie...

There is a lens(looks like a small magnifying glass) made out of plastic that the light shines through to focus the light on the mirror before it hits the DLP chip, that lens is Melted in the center. I unfortunately had the same thing happen to me, and I am unable to find a replacement part.

How can i fix the brightnees in my 61md10

there is a menu setting for best pix or longer lamp life.
Also, turn up brightness of picture settings(different menu)
Also use daylight setting, vibrant, (different menu).
Bulbs dim over time and dust can accumulate on projector lens, mirrors and (not so much on mine) back of screen.
New lamps tend to melt a plastic lens in light engine, a dark shadow may start to appear upper left or center. this started to happen to me with new bulb, (Ebay O.E.M. supposedly $114). I switched back to original lamp hopefully to slow the burn till I can tacklle a repair. Take a look at this website. Hope that helps.

Lamp burned out on X1 infocus projector, Replaced lamp, new lamp stopped working in about 5 hours, got another new lamp and it does not light at all. Still blinking 3 red blinks(saying the bulb is bad)

make sure the colorwheel is spinning. if it is not, replace it. also, blow the dust out of it with canned air. excessive dust kills lamps quickly. you'll also need to reset the lamp timer. are you using an sp-lamp-009? the sp-lamp-018 looks exactly like it, but is used in th x1a and x2. the x1 only uses the sp-lamp-009. if all else fails, replace the power supply.

How do you change the colour wheel

remove the rear panel, front panel, and top. the colorwheel is between the lens and the lamp. removing it is easy, but to unplug it, you need to remove the 2 power boards, the shield, and the fan/lamp housing assembly. there is a tip on this site with a detailed description on replacing it. it's under infocus x2. the x2 and the sp4805 are basically the same machine.

Infocus X2 projector shows picture in black and white only...

that little glass square broke off of the colorwheel, and it needs to be replaced. that yellow/gray line is from the light tunnel collapsing. both parts can be purchased and replaced by you. if you don't feel comfortable doing it, you can send it in to an authorized service center. try av solutions. they're pretty good. you can purchase infocus parts from them, too.

Infocus x2, the bulb melts the small square lens even w/ fan on

either the ballast is bad and is sending too much current to the lamp, the lamps are a cheap knockoff, the thermal fuse is altered, and/or one of the fans aren't working.

Fan noise loud, bulb burst. Replaced with new bulb. Noise even louder! Unit shuts itself off.

the bulb may have burst from overheating from a fan not working to cool it down. and it can be replaced. it does take, however, a while to replace it because you have to take half of it apart. but make sure it's the fan first. take the lamp door off and remove the lamp. use something small and thin to push in the switch that the lamp door usually activates. turn the projector on and see if the lamp fan and the colorwheel (the multicolor glass disk) are spinning. if the fan spins, the noise may be from the colorwheel motor going bad. the fan can be purchased through an infocus authorized service center. check the website for the closest one. but the colorwheel for the x1 cannot be purchased seperately from the optical engine, and that costs a fortune. but here is the part number for the 80mm fan- 526-0152-00.

2 bulbs blown.

To be honest, most people who experience short lamp life on the Infocus X2 is on the genuine infocus lamps. If you read the user opinions here, you'll know what I mean. Me personally think that the X2 lamp filter some how manage to block the vents with dust which results in inefficient cooling in effect reducing the life of the lamp. The best thing to do is vacuum the lamp filters regularly and stick to cheap lamps as the oem ones on the Infocus X2 are also no good. Or better still, just replaace the bulb on it's own from here and save a lot of money.
