Question about Mitsubishi WS-65511 65" Rear Projection Television

Volume, device inpute issues

I have an old Mitsubishi ws-65511, the other day while watching Netflix the volume turned itself down until no sound was playing. I tried to turn it back up and it went up a bit then back down like someone was turning it down with the remote, while I was trying to turn it up on the front panel buttons. So I turned it off, came back to it later turn it on, it displays picture for the input it is on, but the volume stays turn down while the graphics for the volume stay displayed, also I am not able to change inputs on the remote or front panel buttons. We unplugged it yesterday about 4pm and left it unplugged until this morning, then tried it again with the same results. I have check the error code in which I get a 21. Can someone help shed some light on this problem.

I believe you have an overheating problem. Unplug your set and go to the back, make shire all dust is free from the cooling holes. This should fix your problem. If not pull a little further from thevwall and put a personal fan blowing on the back. Hope this helps.

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi 65511 HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

I hope that helps.

My Mitsubishi WS-65511 won't turn on.

I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25. Might be your problem.

Tv ws-65511 volume stuck

Did you ever get this problem fixed? Ours just started doing the same thing. It worked fine the night before, but today it's doing what yours is doing. The remote stopped working for the TV. The remote still works for the cable box, but volume and anything related to TV function not. The screen flashes when we try to adjust volume or anything else, but resets to previous volume. TV not responding to any commands either on the front panel or remote.
Any ideas? Thanks, Patti
