Sewing Machine Manual says nothing about an E7 message. It's been off for an hour, and it still says, "E7"

  • Charlene Lee Mar 23, 2014

What does "E7" mean, anyway? It was working fine up to that point.

  • Charlene Lee Mar 28, 2014

Brought my Singer Patchwork in to the place where I bought it last June. It worked perfectly there, and the sales person had no idea what "E7" meant. She called the main store, and they didn't know either.

I will have to try that, thanks.

E7 means
The start/stop button, reverse/reinforcement stitch button
or the thread cutter button was pressed while no thread
cassette was installed. If the start/stop button is pressed before the sewing machine is correctly set up or if an operation is performed
incorrectly, an error message appears in the stitch indicator. Follow the instructions that appear.
If you press (Stitch selection key) or do the operation correctly while the error message is displayed, the message disappears.

None of that was it. I finally could see that many times when pushing the button for reverse, it was stick part of the way. The machine probably couldn't decide to go forwards or backwards, so it gave an error message. I also got another error message, but can't remember the code. It's a faulty reverse button.

    typo: "was sticking"

The same thing happened to me. After seeing the E7 code I pushed the reverse button to unstick it, then turned the machine off then on again, and it was back to normal.

Same for me my start stop button was stuck and didn't even feel like it was stuck so I turned off my machine after cleaning very well still wouldn't work finally I turned it off again and mashed on the three buttons turned it back on and it was working fine now I have switched to my petal so that this hopefully don't happen again !!!

How do I fix this problem on Elna 6003 which stops working after about 1 min and the computer say stopped for safety.

Hi Gary, I'm Julie. It sounds as though your motor is heating up and then cutting out. Something to try. Clean the machine following the instructions in the user manual. Ensure that the bobbin area is clean. If the motor continues to cut out take your machine to a service centre. One or more parts may need replacing.
Good luck. Kind regards, Julie

Why does my new Singer cg-500 stop working, then start for a little bit and stop again?

Probably thread wrapped around something....takeup crank, motor pully...if you can get inside to have a look great, if not, find someone who can.

Water in door stopped working.

check to see if you have water coming to the refrig. Just crack the supply line slightly. Work your way up as far as you can. It either has an obstruction(dirt) or the solenoid valve has stopped working.

Automatic bobbin winder does not stop when bobbin is full

Simply loosen the screw on the bobbin winder stop, no more than 1 full turn or you will drop the backing nut will fall down into your machine, move the bobbin winder stop slightly to the left then tighten the screw and see if that works. you may have to repeat this step several times until you find the right spot to stop the bobbin at the correct point.
