LCD light went out.

I have an Acer Aspire 9410 w/ 17' monitor. While I was replacing the back casing because the hinges cracked. The light on the LCD went out. I thought that it was bad so I replaced it also. When I connected the new LCD, there was no light either. All the connections are good. What could be the problem? Every thing else functions okay.
