Flashing the bios is a tricky thing to do. basically you will find the file ( i do believe it is a .bin file) , u save on a CD along with an executable file, once you rebooted the computer, it will update it automaticall. some you might have to run the program, pointe it to the bin file, and tada, flashed. try this utility (SIW)
it will tell you what is the BIOS version, among of tons the other info. the utility is free.
there are other methods of flashing, but be careful, you try the wrong thing, and you motherboard is bye bye.

Hello, My name is Keith and I run a small computer repair store in Alabama. I have a customer that has a Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7200 and he cannot remember the BIOS password

Hello Keith!

First of all, there is an OEM Toshiba software out there to flash the bios directly from windows, doing so will remove any password and restore the BIOS to it's original settings with an updated version. If that still doesn't work, consider a 3rd party software to recover the password or if the bios is socketed and none of the above solutions worked, order a new one directly from Toshiba.

Be ABSOLUTELY SURE to flash the BIOS with the correct version according to the model number of the laptop and that you connect the laptop with the power adaptor so it does not run out of battery in the middle of the process failing to do so might rend the computer unusable with a corrupted BIOS file.

Hi. I have netbook acer aspire one AO725, it seems the battery wont charging.. I read about solution that needs to update the the BIOS version.. current BIOS version v1.5, the latest is v1.8 but, it w

I suggest that you make sure the battery is in fact good before you update the BIOS. If the battery was charging OK and suddenly stopped charging then the problem is not the BIOS version.

If you do decide to update the BIOS you will need to find the appropriate procedure to follow by searching the Acer support site and/or knowledge base. Please be aware that using an incorrect method or if something fails during a BIOS update it can result in unrepairable damage.

Reset BIOS password, it can be done in two ways

Open the cover under laptop, remove the CMOS battery about 7 seconds, then plug it back. Turn on laptop, BIOS password will be lost. Perform setting date, time, etc.

Online (conditions: the laptop can desktop access)
Toshiba gives services, online flash BIOS. Download and install software ACPI Flash BIOS, according to model of laptop.

I neeb bios update for sahara laptop al096

Don't do it unless there is a VERY COMPELLING REASON. BIOS flash upgrades don't always go well. If it fails for ANY reason, you are out of business ... rarely can you go back with success.

This is a case of if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

Thanks for your question @

In this situation I recommend you to try removing and reseating the DVD Drive of the Notebook manually. Get the Manual of the Notebook which can give you the instructions to remove and reseat the DVD Drive in the Notebook.

If the DVD Drive is not detected even after reseating, it may be faulty and needs to be replaced.

Sahara KN1 laptop

Older motherboards like the one in your laptop may have a size limit on the hard drive. Maybe there is a bios update for the laptop to fix this issue. you will find that at the manufacturers website under downloads/support.
