It has to reset everything.then try remote, when it starts to work, set new pin code.use your instruction book,to set all blocks to N,,Clear all favorite channels + erase channels in tv 's memory if there in there yet, takes a lot of time.it will keep resetting, remote won't work.let it run awhile. then push exit, hold 5 to 10 seconds remote will eventually come back, check your settings reset them, be sure menu is set to STOP, it may start running threw all its modes again, let run couple hrs, then push exit 5 to 10 seconds to get your remote back.keep trying this. when you think the tv is working right, turn it off for 10 seconds then back on. A few questions first:
Yes the your Toshiba has a 15 Pin VGA input on the back I/O panel.
Are you using a 15 Pin VGA male to male connection between your TV and Computer.
Is your Computer a
1) laptop or a
2) desktop
The highest PC resolution this TV will handle is 1280x1024 @ 60 hz.
Here is a web site below with your TV's Specs:
http://www.crutchfield.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=05219AV600&Show=ExtInfo
If you are trying to use a HDMI cable then PC is not the selection you wish to select but the HDMI input is.
Blessings always,

I have a 2008 LG 42LC5DC. The tuner is currently set to receive a cable box feed but I'm using antennae only and want to scan over the air channels. How can I get to the setup menu?

First set the input to TV if your cable box feed didn't come in on the RF cable. Press the Input button on the side of the TV (the second button from the bottom above the Power button). Alternatively press the Input TV button on the top left of the original remote. (You'll have to search through the inputs if you have a universal remote without the feature.) Next press the Menu button on the TV or on the remote, if you have the original remote/universal remote with the matching feature. On the original remote, the Menu button is above the OK button. The Menu button is the third button from the bottom (above the Input and Power buttons). Press the Menu button and then use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Setup. (If you use the TV buttons, the Ch Up/Down buttons are Up/Down. The volume increase and decrease buttons are Left and Right.) Press the Right arrow key and then Use the Up/Down buttons to select EZ Scan. Press the Right arrow key again. Press the Right arrow key or Enter (on the remote) to launch the scan. You can find the screen shots of the Menu options and the button locations in the manual. The manual is available here: http://www.lg.com/us/commercial/documents/32lg505h-owner-manual.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do I restore the factory settings on a Toshiba TV Model 32w1633DB

IMPORTANT: Different TVs may have different ways of performing the reset procedure. Refer to the Owners Manual CHAPTER 5: SETTING UP YOUR TV > RESET FACTORY DEFAULTS OR CHAPTER 6: BASIC FEATURES > RESETTING TO FACTORY DEFAULTS for your specific TV.
  • Turn off the TV and unplug the TV power cord. Leave unplugged for at least one minute. Plug it in again to complete this reset process.
  • When the TV has powered on, access the settings through the MENU button, perform the following reset procedure.
Whether your TV has Wi-Fi capabilities will dictate the steps to perform the second reset procedure. This procedure will reset all settings and channels to their factory default values.

NOTE: If a PIN code has been set, enter your PIN code. Select DONE and press ENTER.
  • A warning message will appear, select YES and press ENTER. The TV will turn off automatically after a few seconds.
  • After the TV turns off, unplug the TV power cord and then plug it in again to complete the reset process.

My tv's channels are only up to ch 35, and we have cable tv connection. I cant utilize my cable connection cause my tv's only programmed up to 35. do we have a way to program it to go up to more than 35?...

I assume you have analog cable TV service and no cable box. Press MENU button on your TV remote. Go over to CHANNEL SETUP. There are four arrow buttons and a button in the middle of the arrow buttons on the TV remote control. Use these arrow buttons to go up, down, left and right. Use the button in the center to select. TV On-screen menu has Video, then Audio, then Channel Setup.

Cable can be set to ON or OFF, you want to set it ON to get cable channels.
Go down to AUTO PROGRAM and select it, press button in the center of arrow keys.
A short delay while available channels are searched so be patient. After Auto Program finishes, press MENU to exit. You can perform Auto Program whenever required.

You can also add or skip channels manually. You will discover more options in the TVs menus.

Toshiba tv 32kv500b, when tryin to install channels came up no signal, checked aerial cable but cannot get back to the installation menu which came up in the beginning, when press menu button a smaller set...

I suspect you are seeing the Main Menu for the source that you are currently using. Press the Source button (TV/AV on the TV itself) and make sure you are on TV source. The menu will have a set of icons if it is set for analog and a vertical list in digital. Select Setup (use the up/down arrows for digital and the left/right for analog - it's the first one in the list) and click OK. Then select Installation (third one in the list) and then press OK. Next select Automatic channel scan (first one again) and press OK. You will see a warning prompt, highlight Yes and click OK to scan for digital channels. When it is done, it will ask if you want to scan for analog channels.

The manual is available here: http://www.toshiba-om.net/LCD/PDF/English/Country_Specific/KV500-32-English-Specific.pdf (direct link to the pdf)

I hope this helps.

If you are using an antenna or regular cable without a cable box, put the tv on an analog channel. Go into the menu. Select the middle icon at the top of the screen. Go down to the TV/CABLE line. Select either TV (for antenna) or CABLE (for regular cable) on the right. Go down to AUTO CH MEMORY and press the volume+ (right arrow) button. Wait for the channel search screen to clear. Check all of your channels using the channel up button until you come back to the channel you started on.
