Question about Garden
How can we get into shifting place to look at it
There is a few problems that would cause this. Does the shiftier move when trying to put it in to gear? If it does then there is something wrong with the clutch collar or the shift fork

The Drive Belt keeps coming off as soon as I engage the mower I replaced the Drive Pulley and put on a new belt but it still comes off. Any Ideas.

Does it have gears or a hydrostatic (automatic) transmission?
If it's a gear model, sounds like a loose drive belt.
If it's hydrostatic, it could be a belt problem or a problem inside the transmission. If it's a tranmission problem, this is not good. Many of the transmissions on riding lawn mowers are not serviceable - they are just replaced.

I also have a Craftsman tractor with the same problem. Sears repairman said it needed a new transmission and it would cost $1,400 to install. A new one is about $1,000. Anyway, if you remove the battery and the battery tray under the seat it will expose the transmission fill hole (hex). I opened the top and it looked empty. I had a bottle of 90 weight gear oil in my shop and filled the transmission to the top. I have not had any problems with it since. $4.00 bottle of oil verses a new tractor is worth a try.

Most of the time when this happens the reverse shift linkage is too short. It is usually cause by either a bent linkage or worn linkage bushings.
The internal shifting fork can be bent inside the transmission which is rare but does occasionally happen... most of the time it is a linkage problem. Also check on the side of the transmission to make sure the shifting lever has not moved from the original position on the Yoke shaft.
Thanks for using FixYa.
