I have found the selenoid now I need to know how to get it out the engine space.

Get no voltage from selenoid to starter


Probably a safety switch, the ignition switch send electricity through a few safety switches on the way to the solenoid, neutral, brake on and deck off is what it is checking for .If you unplug the little wire on the solenoid and touch a wire from the pos + battery terminal of the battery to the spade on the solenoid it should turn over , and prove the solenoid is good or not.

Will not start


clean and tighten all connections from the positive cable all the way to the starter and selenoid connections too and try jumping the selenoid across and see if that kicks the starter over if it does that means the selenoid is bad

There should be a red wire that runs to the switch from the solenoid. That wire supplies power to the switch. If there is power to the switch and no power on the start pole of the switch then the switch is Bad

Diagram for belt on mower deck of an old Roper


I think I have a diagram for this, what hp is the mower 12hp? what size cutting deck? I have an old roper 12hp which needs a new belt but don't know what size belt to buy?

It won't start


do you have power to the solenoid?? with the key on there should be 12 volts on one side of the solenoid then when you turn the key to start it should send 12 volts out the other side to the starter
