Electrolux 7020B powerhead not working

The roller brush stopped working completely recently after working intermittently. I took the powerhead apart and found a crimped/broken wire in the coupler assembly. I replaced the coupler/elbow assembly and the roller is still dead. All other wiring and circuits seem ok. The on/off and suction control switches work fine. I've read a about blown thermal fuse but I can't find any type of fuse on the powerhead. Any suggestion? I'm at a standstill. Thanks Gary

The ends may be clogged with debris. You will have to remove the brush roller and remove one end cap to disassemble the roller for cleaning.

Have you checked the roller brush. Thread, string, and hair wrapped around the brush will create stess on the motor, resulting in overheating and shut off. Clean the brush and try.

I have an Electrolux upright with problems with the rollers. The reset switch that sticks out of the broke off several years ago and it worked fine. My wife sucked some string into the rollers and they...

Since the vacuum does reset, I suspect a different problem. If strings, hair, and similar items are picked up, they also wind around the ends of the brush, which would result in the roller being too tight to spin, thus shutting off the motor. You probably won't be able to see the ends without taking the powerhead apart. The problem with the consumer taking it apart is getting it reassembled correctly.
I do recommend getting the switch replaced, though. Take the vacuum to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for repair and cleaning. Being an older one it probably needs it.

There is a no filter safety device part #1130912-01, maybe the new filter isn't in quite like it should be or this device has gone bad. Also check the brush roll and make sure it turns easily, if not then that could be the cause.
