I would just buy a transformer for the unit 220 to 120. That way when you move back your good to go.

Sony AVR STR-DN1040 didn't support 220v and broke

in some devices bring a swich for 220 and 110, the problem is that you connected in a line of 220, and We will probably be hurt the transformer internal fuse, you have to open it to bypass it or change it after that you have to protect the device with unfoco in series just in case you have a short.

The dryer has sone things inside that require 110 volts. Specifically the motor and the timer. Therefore if by some chance that you haven't yet damaged anything, it still will not run until you have a 220 volt center tapped transformer to similate US power (220 volts with a neutral). Also, since the foreign power is 50 Hertz, the timer will run slow (5/6th speed) as will the motor. And the motor, being designed for 60 Hertz, will run unusually warm.

Sony STR-D565 fuse continues to blow

You could have a shorted winding in the power transformer. The diodes in the power supply can be shorted. Filter capacitors can short and send power to ground which will blow the fuse.

Will a Canon Pixma MP 160 printer work in europe running 220 volt

Have a look on the markings on the adaptor. There it will be mentioned ---input voltage ---- 115V or 220V
If both 115 and 220 are mentioned it will automatically handle voltage differences.

Please make sure to avoid burning.

Please check Input Voltage 110 ~ 240 volts AC at rear or bottm side of unit. If same is written there, its Auto Voltage Operatable and can be use on 220Volts.

Converter needed

If your unit is from the USA, 120 volt/ 300 watts.
EU is 220-240V / 300 Watts. Best choice is to go to Bose service center in EU and have your transformer inside your box replaced with 220-240V for EU operation. That way you don't have to worry about a converter. If not, 2nd choice is buy a step-down transformer 220-240V input and 120 Volt output that can handle 300Watts.

Good Luck.
