Once one for a while I have no issues turning it on and off

SOURCE: we have a Sony rear
The problem on your tv is the leaky electroltytic capacitor on the regulator section.
Replaced the capacitor on that area and your unit will be back to normal again.
If you don't have an experience in electronics find a qualified technician to do the job for you.
