Tangling on the bottom of the cloth is always caused by one of these:

Upper thread is not threaded correctly.
Upper thread tension is too loose.
Using too thick thread.

Sometimes caused by:
Damaged plastic bobbin case

Rarely caused by:
Shuttle out of time
Burr on the shuttle

It is NEVER caused by the bobbin tension, so don't touch it.

Hi I am having problem with my sewing machine. Thread gets all tangled up on the bottom of the fabric... My husband is very smart about machine and needs just suggestions from you.

That is called bird nesting or thread nesting and usually results from: mis-threading, thread not seated fully in the upper tension disk, or upper tension too loose. (Mis-threading may not be a user error--sometimes the thread will "jump" out of thread guide or the take-up lever.)

Remove the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension at the midway point between high & low number and retest your machine. The upper tension will probably need some tweaking for your particular machine, but the mid-point is a good place to start.

Have lots of thread on the under side of fabric

Thread nesting or bird nesting resulting usually from: mis-threading, upper thread not seated completely in the tension disk, upper thread tension too loose. HINT: ALWAYS raise the presser foot when threading the upper thread.

Stiches at the bottom come out like a rats nest not sewing right?

Generally, thread issues that appear under the fabric are the result of an upper thread problem. What you describe sounds like bird nesting or thread nesting and are usually a result of: mis-threading, thread not being fully seated in the tension disk, and/or upper tension too loose.

Remove the upper thread. ALWAYS raise the presser foot. Rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension to the midway point between high & low numbers (although this will probably need to be tweaked for your particular machine). Retest your machine. Adjust the upper tension until both threads meet in the middle of your fabric.

FWIW, mis-threading may not be your mistake. I have an older machine that the take-up lever is open at the top. Sometimes, usually when sewing fast, the thread will literally "jump" out of that take-up lever and...instant thread mess... So, if this sort of thing occurs frequently with your machine, try to narrow where the problem originates. With my machine, I "manufactured" a method of closing the opening in the take-up lever. Voila! No more jumping thread!

My kenmore model385.16221300 the thread keeps braking and the underside has big loops of thread

What you have is bird nesting or thread nesting and could be a result of several things. Usually, it is because the machine is mis-threaded, the thread is not seated in the tension disk, and/or the upper tension is too loose.

Remove the upper thread. ALWAYS raise the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. Verify the thread path is correct. Set the upper tension at the midway point between high & low number. Retest your machine.

You may need to tweak the upper tension to get it where it should be as all machines differ. The tension is correct when the upper and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

I have a 9020 singer sewing machine I bought without a manual. I can't seem to sew without looping the thread under it. Almost in knots.

Are you saying the upper thread is knotting under the fabric as it stitches? This is bird nesting or thread nesting and is generally caused by mis-threading, the thread not being seated in the tension disk, or the upper tension too loose.

When threading the upper thread, ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. Verify that the machine is threaded correctly. If one guide is missed, the stitching will go haywire. Start out with the upper tension set around the midway point and then tweak it through test stitching.

That is thread nesting or bird nesting. Could be the result of several things, but main reasons are upper tension too loose and the thread not being completely seated in the tension disk.

Pfaff Creative 2 loops on underside of fabric

Although there could be several reasons, this is generally called bird nesting or thread nesting. It is usually a result of loose upper tension, mis-threading, or possibly a needle/thread/fabric incompatibility.

#1--when you thread, make sure you ALWAYS raise the presser foot so the thread seats in the tension disk. And, be sure to change the needle often...
